Stewart is always the one that worries me - he hasn't put a foot wrong so far this year. |

I wish North put up a bit more of a fight against Essendon today. They'll be up and about.
It's going to be a big Anzac Game. Both teams in the top 8.
We should see another 90+ thousand there. Might even beat the 94,825 from 1995. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Essendon definitely had a confidence booster today against a hapless North Melbourne. North were smashed through the midfield with virtually all Essendon midfielders getting more than 30 possessions. Shiel had a blinder apparently. So our "best tagger", A. Treloar, will clearly go to him.
Like us, they have a great mix of forwards, such as Stringer, Orazio, Stewart, Tippenwoody, perhaps Daniher, and they have serious legspeed.
As a replacement for James Aisch, we will I think need to address the threat of their small forwards and their speed in general. Our website lists: Brayden Sier, Daniel Wells, Ben Reid and Ben Crocker as the main ones in the VFL pushing for senior selection. (IQ is not mentioned, nor Flynn Appleby).
So, I think (depending what happens in the VFL game tomorrow) that it will be out of these 4. I would not bring in Ben Reid, as another tall would slow us down more. To me, it would be a choice between Wells and Sier, and most likely Sier if his VFL form is good would be my preference over Wells even, because it is just so critical for us to achieve ascendancy in the centre clearances. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

^ Appleby went up with the team as the reserve, so he's next in line. |

Whenever they start pumping up how big the crowd will be, it falls short of expectations. (Not that P35 on his own counts as "they". ) The 1995 crowd happened completely unexpectedly.
And the '95 game was not televised. |

Good summary, MTTM.
Think Sier is the player we need the most for our clearance work. De Goey was handy last night when he was rotated through the middle, but he can't play there for the whole match, plus he's our biggest goal scoring threat at the moment so I'd prefer him to largely stay up forward.
Whatever the match committee decides, this is going to be a big match. Hopefully, we smash them on ANZAC Day again _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Pretty much my thoughts Jezza, hence I'd like to see Sier get in the team next week _________________ All Aboard!! Choo Choo!!! |

Think Aish will be fine, so I expect that we will go in with no changes. |

Who is this "Stewart" forward at Bombers? Is this the same bloke that has played VFL all season?
Are we expecting him to break into the side for Anzac Day? |

He's the guy for whom a new thread has been started criticising our poor recruiting every time he touches the football more than once in a quarter. So, we get two or three such threads a year. |

Not sure that anyone should be so complacent about Stewart _________________ Free Julian Assange!!
