Keep in mind that conditions up north will probably be hot and humid so you want someone who can handle that. Guys like Sier and Wells need to string together some solid form in the vfl before being considered as senior inclusions. Beams is the obvious replacement. No reason why Brown shouldn't hold his spot. He was lively in the last quarter last week. Greenwood maybe? But only if we wanted to use him in a tagging role. |

Beams obviously, if he's fit, otherwise it's out of Appleby or Crocker.
Wells, Sier and Reid all need to string several good VFL games together to be considered for a call up.
Remember, our VFL side got smashed. |

Maybe Greenwood is being managed? He would have been good value on the Bont though... _________________ Get back on top. |

Wouldn't mind seeing wills play just to see what that could add to the team. Imagine he would need a few games though. It's been a while for him in the senior team. Beams in. NO Greenwood. Too slow for the lions. His skills are lacking too. All my picks this year have been wrong. So excited to see what Bucks chooses. Somebody mentioned Reid to give GDG more centre time. I like that prospect too... Reid could be that marking edge we need up forward. |

Greenwood will eat Mr averaging 38 touches Neale for dinner on Thursday night. If he doesn't, we will be lucky to escape, the way we have been travelling aside from the Richmond game, as we reinvent our identity this year. _________________ Get back on top. |

We need to focus on winning the ball out of the middle so Beams comes in for Mayne.
My only other thought is whether they bring in Appleby and switch Maynard into the middle to tag or counter Neale.
Brown played pretty well last week but he is the obvious out if they go with Appleby. _________________ Daicos, impossible angle ... Goal! |

Our clearance stats over 4 games:
Grundy 30 (12 centre)
Pendlebury 21 (12 centre)
Treloar 14 (5 centre)
Beams 11 (4 centre)
Sidebottom and Adams - each 10 (3 and 5, respectively, centre).
Neale is second in the comp with 36 (15 centre).
Neale is also second in the comp for contested possessions (77). After Grundy (55), our "best" is less than half Neale's - Treloar 38. Beams has 27.*
Beams really isn't going to take the ball off Neale, which - of course - is why Brisbane were delighted to see the back of his contract and recruit a good mid.
* The contested possessions figures are from AFL Tables. Footywire has slightly different figures (Grundy 56, Pendlebury 37, Treloar 36 and then Crisp on 31). |

If Beams doesn't get up I'd look at playing Appleby and moving Maynard or Aish to the wing. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

i like these ideas very much. I think Appleby is banging down the door and i think Aish can play a wing if needed (he did it last year before injury and before Mayne then stepped up and took his spot))
OIther options coming out of the weekend best summed up as follows (from AFL website):
"Wells has missed the past 10 months with a Lisfranc injury in his left foot, but the classy midfielder slotted in well, finishing with 23 disposals, 11 marks and a goal.
Sier – who AFL coach Nathan Buckley said earlier this week had been troubled by a few niggles – had 28 touches and six tackles.
Second-year rookie Flynn Appleby was named his side's best, the defender having 20 touches and six marks, while big man Ben Reid followed up his three-goal effort last week with another two." _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

It would be crazy to drop Brown to bring in Appleby. |

He wasn't so bad last week, apart from that shocking kick at goal. _________________ All Aboard!! Choo Choo!!! |
