What does “done his hamstring” mean anyway?
Tweak, awareness, strain, tear, amputation? _________________ Est. 2002 |

Oh, we need to finish compiling the Collingwood dictionary. In Howe-speak, "awareness" is definitely more minor than "tweak". For "cramp", see what Ads says. |

When will the club hire fitness staff that have a clue. Doing a hamstring is a sign of club incompetence |

The club should get an external review, as other clubs have.
[e.g. look at the bunch of posts beginning with http://magpies.net/nick/bb/viewtopic.php?p=1859984#1859984 in the "fitness guy" thread.]
Current strength, conditioning, rehab & medical staff cannot really review themselves (and surely no one thinks Geoff Walsh had or has the expertise to). |

Ludicrous. Our number one commodity injured already. Beggars belief. _________________ Est. 2002 |

Amazes me when people criticize the club when a player gets an injury. It happens, anyone can; tweak a hammy, strain a calf or qaud, get hurt in a collision... it's a contact sport with blokes pushing the limits. It's going to happen. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

agree. The secret for when a player does a hammy is to make sure its a one off. Nearly every player tears a hammy at some stage in their career. The ones who develop permanent problems are the ones who tear it again immediately upon their return (meaning they were allowed to stress the muscle before it was ready for such stress). Shut him down is not the right answer either by the way. The recovery has to be gradual increase in stress and not a violent one. Cant avoid violent stress in a game situation, so it needs to be done smartly on the track. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

It's not our fitness staff or regime or training, it's a problem at most of the other AFL clubs too. With us, I reckon we should be looking at the training ground. Is it too hard? |

Suggest (demand?!?) an external review at the AGM. |
