8/201. Miller is playing a good hand. 61 n.o.
------------------------------------------

Lewis takes 2 from 2 and The Redbacks are all out for 225.

At stumps, The Bushies have knocked off 48 for the loss of Mott (0). Rofe took the wicket.

Elliott is 23 n.o. and Hodge, 22 n.o.

Mott is probably the one weak link in the team. Maybe Warne can assume a position as opener ??

lol

Another superb innings from Elliott put The Bushies in a position to declare, 106 ahead.

Elliott and Hodge (73) added 109 and Elliott and Moss (46) put on 95 to reach The Redbacks first innings before Tait (3/55) took 3 quick wickets.

Berry (16) and Lewis (16) helped Elliott (154 n.o.) take the lead to 106 before they declared.

S.A. were 0/3 at stumps.

The Redbacks are digging in.

After 12 overs, it's 0/40. Inness bowling very well.

That must have been a pretty good knock by Elliot when you consider that S.A have two of the more promising fast bowlers in Tait & Cleary.

I think you left out the most promising Redback bowler, mate. Paul Rofe.

Tait only has 19 Pura Cup wickets (including his 3/55 in the current match) this year @ 32.31 and Cleary, 23 @ 30.08 - not good figures, really, whereas Rofe has 30 wickets @ 24.46

Well Tait and Cleary have been given opportunities at higher levels this summer (im pretty sure) and have been more talked about. I thought Rofe was one of those workhorses who may not get rewarded ?? All three form a pretty good attack for SA which is good to see. It wasnt so long ago that SA had one of the worst bowling attacks going around.

Well he's hardly a workhorse. He opens the bowling for The Redbacks.

In his last outing, he took the first 5 Bushies wickets in their first innings and finished with a 7 for.

Tait was selected in the Australia A side for the Hobart match simply because he was considered to be very fast. He came into that game with a bowling average of 38.

Cam White (2/14) broke the 100 run opening partnership and also sent Blewett on his way, lbw.

Deitz made 48 and Blewett continues his run of outs with 8.

Ben Cameron is again impressing, in only his second first class game, with 58 n.o.

Rain has interrupted play.

No further play was possible.

Not much chance of a result now. At 2/122, The Redbacks are 16 ahead and for them to set a target would take too long so the Vics will need to take the other 8 wickets from 50 or so overs.

That would leave them a similar time to get the runs. Otherwise, they'll be quite happy with the 2 points. Very Happy
