Australia really need a good slips fielder, Matthew Hayden has done a good job, but he's a little big to get low catches. Maybe once Warne comes back they can shift Hayden and put Warne there. Other then that I don't know who could fit that spot.

Agree with your Test squad Donny and your later comments with one exception, that of Lehmann. His intl career has been respectable and I have no wish to demean it but he has never been an automatic selection . Therefore for him to walk automatically back into the side is incomprehensible.

Still I do agree that they will probably go with a v similar squad. Agree Love is deservably first reserve with the bat. McGill will probably get the nod but I would go White. My reserve quick would be Inness or Tait.

Probably little change for one-dayers with Langer going and Symonds coming in. Bevan's tenure is probably over with the maturing of Symonds and Clarke and I consider Katich to be a far more versatile batting option.
Sorry, no Harvey, he can go and spend more time admiring his hair.

Harvey has been a better 4th bowling option this summer, apart from the game at the SCG where India took him to the cleaners in the last over. He can and will improve more as he plays more games.

Is he legitimately good enough to calssify as a specialist bowling option because he IS NOT an all-rounder at intl level. Frankly other bowlers offer as much with the bat.

His performances at intl level, over a number of seasons exposure, can be classified as useful but never in the match winning league. He's 32-33 y.o FFS not 10 years younger. Wonthaggi's that way Ian >>>>>>

On 3LO they say its a squad of 13 players ?? Or perhaps 14

Is Bevan a walk up start in the team?? Will be interesting to see what happens.

Well, wombat, he's 31 and yes, he's in the team as a bowler and since when has the #4 bowler in a team been expected to be a match winner ?

He does the job of a support bowler and does it well.
