Congrats to Witter. He's been a massive win for Gold Coast since being trade. He had a huge year last year, and has had a good year this year.

We were never going to be able to play Grundy, Cox and Witts in the same 22. Witts is too good a player to spend his career in the seconds and Gold Coast are unlikely to play finals for the balance of Witts' career. So good luck to the bloke and I hope he leads the Suns to a memorable victory over the Demons this weekend. _________________ Born and raised in Black and White |

He’s been great for them and no doubt would have been great for us.
He strikes me as a leader. He’s big and has a bit of mongrel about him.
Good on him! _________________ Beware the swooping Magpie. |

Actually Petula Clark mihjt have beaten both of them with a similarly titled song which charted in 1966. It was a different song but it was called Sign of the Times and opened with the line "It's a sign of the times." _________________ Born and raised in Black and White |

The problem with that is that Cox is as good a ruckman as Witts, a better mark and a better forward.
Unless we were going to play Witts in his best position as first ruck and play Grundy forward, it was never going to work _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Who is a better pickup for the Suns from Collingwood?
Josh Fraser or Jarrod Witts? |

I never saw him as leadership material, but maybe his development has grown significantly at the Suns.
Either way, all the best to him. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Swallow, Witts to co-captain the Suns
https://www.theage.com.au/sport/swallow-witts-to-co-captain-the-suns-20190225-p5101q.html
' “My leadership is something I’ve worked hard on over the last couple of years and I’m grateful for the opportunities the club has given me and I’m looking forward to playing a role in shaping our future,” said Witts.
“We are in the unique situation where we still are creating the foundations of our club. We know we are in a tough industry, but we want to look for the good and be positive.
"It doesn’t mean there are no home truths, but we look to build people up. Show them how they can contribute.”
“Throughout the past 18 months we’ve really focussed on ensuring that as a group we all take responsibility for leading our club forwards, it’s not the job of any one individual.' |
