^^I'm very confident with McClarty either forward or back. He has the competitiveness and work rate needed and that's more than half the battle for a tall. I've very little doubt he'll make it as an AFL player. _________________ Well done boys! |

Stewart tore it up against us at the weekend. Absolute gun. Got a goal against Jack Madgen, too. Don't know why we didn't take him when we had the chance. We really lack for height in the VFL side, in places - he could help a bit with that. |

But 2 names that have been missed so far are the 2 we should have had, James Stewart and Jake Kelly under father son.
What a difference they would have made on the weekend.
James Stewart, 10 kicks, 6 handballs, 4 tackles, 7 marks as a key forward delivering 3 goals 2 behinds.
Jake Kelly, 11 kicks, 7 handballs, 2 tackles, 6 marks......playing defense in one of the grand final teams from last year.
Jake Kelly could play the Darcy Moore roll down back which would mean Moore and Stewart could combine as twin targets up forward. Moore could Ruck 10% of the time with Grundy.......then we are not talking about Cox. All of a sudden we have a spine....a young spine. Darcy could swing back or forward on need and we could draft another young tall next year.
A lot of focus rightly so on Buckley, but I place the list management & recruitment decisions the number 1 reason for the situation we are in today |
i thought our rookie, Magden, cleaned up Stewart in the Essendon reserves on the weekend. Doesnt seem like a game changer to me. Who would he replace in our forward line? _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

At the time they were available, neither setting the world on fire. |
I’m calling it Hinesight but I agree. Everyone’s an expert in retrospect.
And let’s not forget, if you’re 6’5” and in the same forward line as Daniher and Hurley / Hooker, playing on a perfect night and winning in the midfield, it ain’t that hard to get a kick.
Let him be the main target being pummeled every weekend for a season and see how he goes then.
He’s a work in progress but he is headed in the right direction ( if you’re a bombers supporter ) |
Certain posters on here were warning about the Hine recruiting back in 2013 and 2014. They were bagged repeatedly.
Funny now with Hinesight they were right. |
do we need to apply hinesight to your hinesight????? oooh, everyone keeping very quiet...... _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

I watched a lot of Stewart when he was in Syd.
He will have games where he dominates the VFL and he did the NEAFL.
He's too soft for AFL and I reckon most teams know it.
Right now I'd be picking Mihocek ahead of him comfortably and then Mclarty, Lynch and even Madgen.
I also think between him and his old man he has an attitude of entitlement. Right decision in the end.
I would though take J Kelly. Be great to pick him up after we bring his Bro into the club !!!! _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

Jake Kelly omitted.
I’m not bagging him, I think he’s an “ ok “ player but I also think he was the beneficiary of Jake Levers ability to make Kelly’s job that bit easier.
As for James Stewart, as long as Mitch Brown keeps doing his job, Stewart won’t be seen in the Bombers seniors again. And that’s even before Daniher gets back. |

No. He’s Craig’s nephew. West Coast we’re very keen but the Lions got in before them. This kid is quick ! |

Jake Kelly is a poor man’s Jack Crisp without the pace or prolific ball gathering skills and James is poor man’s Craig Stewart without the “torpedo” skills _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

He's a fairly ordinary player who can perform a specific role for a team that needs it.
Would only be a chance to play for us if we had injuries. He wouldn't play ahead of Langdon and you'd prefer not to play them together. _________________ Well done boys! |
