Sise by side is not just a few words, it's in our DNA. Pendles, Grundy, Sidey, Coxy, Crisp, Howe and of course De Goey were our magnificent seven today.
When WHE went off injured I honestly thought we were gonski. Hard to see him not missing a few weeks, but the fact he was able to play out the game, with a limp however, suggests he may just miss 2-3 weeks. Here's hoping he's OK.
Congratulations Pies. Well done. |

Pendlebury played his best game of the year today. 11 clearances, 6 in the last quarter to take us to victory. A great captain's game. _________________ Well done boys! |

Very impressive win. The boys stood fat when it counted. I thought we would get done the way the game was going but determination and guts saw a great last quarter. Good to see big Cox hold some of his marks in the last as well. A very impressive little tap on in the last also. Sidey by Sidey we stick together. _________________ carn the mighty pies! |

Not in my wildest dreams did I think we'd be 11-4 and have won 7 in a row at the start of the year.
This time last year we were 5-10 after losing to Essendon. Things can change quickly _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

An absolutely gut wrenching, magnuficent win, Pies. Mason Cox, you are becoming a star, and very fast. I just hope we have some luck with WHE, and pray to the Gods of Football that his injury is not a severe one. We just need some luck to run our way, and who knows what is possible. Well done Pies. So proud of our guys tonight. |
Great post MTTM. My thoughts exactly. I just posted in another topic, but how was the tap on from Mason in the forward line to Mihocek, who then passed to JDG and goal!!! Superb play at a very crucial moment.
I never expected to win this one, given how undermanned we are (both before the game and during it with WHE being so restricted) and how Essendon has been travelling, but it was team spirit, guts and team play that got us the win. Wonderful team effort. Very happy for Sidey that we got such a memorable win in his 200th. |

Yep totally
Grundy walked past us as they went to the tunnel parade and you could see he had given absolutely everything he had. The last 1/4 he got do n low for one, just amazed the way he did it at speed for such a big man. Pendles take a bow, mighty captains game, JDG worth every cent.
Now how do we stop so many marks against? And how do we cover Dunn against the good teams? _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Just shows what 22 guys believe they can win then just roll up their sleeves and do it
Every player at some time thru the match did their bit

I haven't seen the stats, but Thomas and Phillips both seemed to have quiet games....again. We need these guys firing as they are very important.
FWIW, I thought it was just about Crisp's best game ever for our club. |

A tremendous boost for belief in each other and what they can do together. This may prove to be the most significant win of the season. |

True get out of jail victory, to play like shit for half a game and win whilst ending Essendons season is a great result
Will need to improve massively if we are to even compete with West Coast next week
On the positive, Pendles and Sidey brilliant, Big Cox just stands up when it counts and we need a new midfielder as De Goey should be played as a permanent forward. Gun up forward |

Again? Thomas was near best on last week and Phillips was just about our best in the second half.
This week, Phillips had 21 and Thomas 11. _________________ Well done boys! |

Agree RB. As was mentioned last week, I think maybe Phillip's confidence was severely dented by the knock out he received. Josh seems to have a quiet game followed by a blinder. Interesting.
As for Crisp... he was magnificent and it's amazing to think that we once thought of him as the "steak knives" in the Beams deal. He has been so consistent and his run out of half-back today was instrumental. |
