That’s what Carlton chose to do and they got what they wanted out of the game, an “ honourable “ loss.
We didn’t run hard enough when we didn’t have the ball and that’s the only reason they scored at all.
No big deal, just a bit of complacency against rabble and a tune up for the second half of the season.
A win against Carlton, the 4 points and seemingly no injuries of any significance.
Not a bad day in the office, for mine. | Do you wish there were any? |

Game went the way I expected. Carlton wanted to make sure they didn't get thrashed and we played a flat after the bye.
Dominated early and didn't get it on the scoreboard so was always going to be a scrap.
Class won out. Wouldn't mind Curnow or Cripps in the team.
Our Thomas had a shocker today. Mayne is doing ok but is a bit of a worry.
Levi is not a forward.
Pendles, Sidey and Grundy got us home. |

We had that post-bye look, with a pretty lousy connection into the forward line, but the four points is enough for me. AT being ok is the best news all day. |
Yep, our boys sure did look as thought they had that post-bye rusty look, but we got the win against spirited opposition. They say that's the sign of a good team - to win despite not playing their best - the sign of a team in the four!!!! Who would've thought!!!
Very, very relieved that Adam reckons he just had cramp, but it sure was a strange time for cramps to come on. Hope he's got the right diagnosis.
Also hope that Daisy gets rubbed out for his hit against Levi. He was in a nasty, spiteful mood today and hope he cops it. |
Well, you would be in a filthy mood today if you were Dale Thomas. He is a non-entity in a bottom-dwelling team playing a top-four team in which he might have been a venerated legend, rather than a plankton filter.
Coming face to face with the appalling consequences of terrible life decisions makes people cranky. |
He was talking a lot but he wasn’t angry. I lipread. He was telling our guys “when you are finished as a player get a trade to us. I was done 5 years ago, you guys wanted to be rid of me so I came here on a massive pay rise & haven’t had a kick since but the dumb bastards have given me an extension. Even Mick was in on the deal. I should have a real job by now but I’m still getting paid to run around each weekend pretending that I am a footballer.” |

To expand who goes out of 22 for reasons of not performing to required level
OR thru injury—Levi confirmed concussion
Treloar beat a bullet but see how he comes up
And Jordy after a contest near boundary in 2nd qtr appeared in trouble and limped the few meters to interchange _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

It's actually a good sign to be able to grind out an ugly win, because sometimes that's how they unfold, especially against a bottom rung team determined to flood their defence.
So glad to hear that Treloar is OK. If Greenwood misses, then it opens the possibility for Sier to make his debut. |

Absolutely true. He looked absolutely crestfallen during the singing of the the song. I hope someone gets around him this week and tells him it was just an aberattion, to go harder next week, because he's done so well after coming back from his suspension. |

I'd very much like to Sier given a go. |

And that dreaded W/L gap has closed to just 2 games. |
Been keeping track of that for like 20 years... I think we were almost 20 behind at one point.
We kept getting close and then they'd win one. And of course one loss means we need two wins to make up for it.
When we finally beat it, and we will, it will be a fantastic day.
And I'll gladly buy you a drink when it happens. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

A lazy 12 against Gold Coast should put him in front.

And I hate to say it, but perhaps Blair should be recalled for the GCS game, as a couple of blokes volunteered themselves today, for a stint in the VFL. |
Blair won't be playing for 2 reasons:
1. No longer good enough
2. Has torn his hammy
Sier is long overdue. Time to see what he's got in the big time. |
So... Blair got injured in the VFL? First time for everything I guess...
Many on the forum pushing for Sier and/or Wills to join midfield to hit some packs; would have been a good idea today, in hindsight. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Very happy with the win. It's hard to really pump a team whose sole purpose was to not get thrashed.
Grundy had another great day but Kruzer going down certainly helped. Sidey and Pendles really showed their class today.
WHE & Stevo are real weapons for us. I think we really need Moore or Reid to help out down back.
Be interesting to see what changes will be made for next week. Maybe Sier or Wills for Greenwood.
Anyway, never expected to be 4th on the ladder at the start of the season. Hope we can keep it up. _________________ I hold a cup of wisdom, but there is nothing within. |

No dice, Dys.
He got injured at training, like so many of our players. |
