We lost....again!!!!
Anyone who thinks that’s ok is the reason why we are so poor.
This was a loss, it is NO different to last week and quite frankly, I’m annoyed that “honourable” losses are becoming the best we can hope for.
Same mistakes, by the same players and same free opposition players roaming forward.
This rubbish must stop. |
Collingwood people were breaking bones for your selfish gratification , mate. Go have a cold shower and learn what it means to salute a noble effort. |
Yep, the usual foot stamping and selfish child posting after a bleed-for-the-jumper effort against impossible odds - Verucca Salt stuff. Makes you wonder why they bother. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

Injuries are part of the game ... can’t control that. Accidents will happen. Same for all clubs.
Umpires are part of the game... can’t control them. They will make bad calls. Some will go in our favour and some against us.
What we can control is our recruiting and coaching.
Teaching our players the basic skills of AFl such as hitting a target by hand or foot.
Recruiting specific players to strengthen our list in weak areas ; eg key position players.
From what I’ve seen both of those have been ordinary last few years.
Honourable losses are a cop out.
I don’t care for them .... they are a loss , I won’t wins. _________________ Go Pies...Premiers 2010 |

Thought the effort, courage and the intensity were magnificent tonight. We had our entire forward line out, and then lost Reid before the game as well. I give Buckley very little praise (mainly because I feel he doesn't deserve it) but today I actually thought the coaching was brilliant. With a team so devastated by injuries, even before the game began, he tried a myriad of creative combinations up forward and round the ground. I wasn't enamoured of seeing Pendles ruck, but clearly it was an experiment he trialled today. I have not seen him coach in that manner before. It was creative, and dynamic.
It is painful to lose, and many will condemn the "honourable loss syndrome". I will simply say, I am proud and inspired by the effort we saw today, and we saw flashes of fantastic talent lighting up the horizon as well.
I am looking forward to next week now. I thought Moore had injured a finger. Is it actually a hammy? _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Great Effort but No Forward Line and Poor Ball Use Hurt us big Time.
My Thoughts from Game:
Crocker will never be a AFL Player
Grundy really Stood Up in the Game and Easily was BOG
Treloar is in Shocking Form. Either Drop Him or Rest Him IF Injured
Aish was really Good Today. More Damaging with his Disposals and Tackled Strongly
Injuries might Kill this Season quite Quickly
Howe was Amazing but Probably should of gone Forward when Moore did his Hammy
WHE is Damaging but need to get lot more then 11 Touches
Stephenson Tries Hard but Can't do what he wants as not Strong Enough yet
Love Murray Taking the Game On
JT was Good
Can't Play Cox and Grundy in Same Team as when Grundy Rucks alone he Dominates but when Sharing with Cox he can Struggle

Can't agree mudlark. Winning is not everything, especially when the odds are completely against you. It's about how you play the game/or life and we were meritorious today, |

Can't fault the effort. |
5th year of'HONOURABLE losses. Crocker need s to learn to kick a drop punt.. certainly hasn't got what to takes to kick"Around the corner". Adams is out so is Varcoe. can't continue to say we need spuds because they have name.Sorry for Broomhead but surely Mclarty should have been the call up for Reid??? being a BIG GUY??? So what do we do?/ we bomb it to a midget forward line defended by GIANT giants!!!We should have won by 4 goals but don't kid yourself about Honourable losses. |
Honourable losses are fine by my book. G and D is all I ask of my team and we gave it in spades today. |
Enjoy our 3rd wooden spoon then. |
Sometimes you simply have to take circumstances into account. Show me a team who would have performed better against a top opponent with their entire first team forward line missing (and more, our 8-9 first choice forwards) and being an extra man down after half time. We had no right to be close in this game, but through sheer effort were able to take it down to the wire. It was a very good performance. _________________ Well done boys! |

Could see the game lost at half forward in the final term; no tall moving targets in Moore [injured], or Reid [withdrawn] to take a grab.
Can't help thinking Cox would have had a day out down there today in these conditions; i.e. plenty of air balls, no rain.
Josh Thomas snuffed out the flame late in last quarter with inept disposal under no pressure going I50.
The backline held up well, all things considered.
Yes, the tackling was ferocious today, as it needed to be.
We got four quarters of effort, with two players unable to return to the field.
Sometimes that has to be enough against a team such as this.
It's like you can only shut down so many blokes for so long, then some other arseholes just step up out of nowhere to share the load.
F*ck me, how good a clearance machine is Dylan Shiel?
Happy for Scharenberg's return, though he went okay.
Wells in next week thanks; even if used sparingly off the bench in bursts. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Very sad and sorry to have one of our boys sustain a broken leg and in particular in the first 5 mins of the game . Broomhead replaced Ben Reid on a perfect sunny, dry afternoon so my question is WHY the %$^£$%^&%% would you substitute Ben Reid with Broomhead when you have McLarty ,who by all accounts, is banging the door down for senior selection?? If we take note of the very large Giants backline you have to ask yourself who?? is going to take that mark?? Who is going to force the ball to ground for the other 5 midgets who make upper forward line???I guess next week, because Moore has done a Hammy we'll put Blair in to replace him at CHF!!!It seems we have no clue and it's gunna be a LONG year. We should have won by 4 goals today. |

More good news ...
#vflmagpies After being momentarily helped to his feet, Kirby is back on the ground. A stretcher is being called on to help him off. Let's hope he's ok.
An ambulance is on the ground for Kayle Kirby. The details surrounding his condition are still unclear. Let's hope it's not as bad as it looks #vflmagpies _________________ All We Can Be |

@collingwoodfc S horror night continues with the VFL match stopped and an ambulance called for Kayle Kirby who is still in the ground, conscious and responsive, where he collapsed. _________________ Get back on top. |
