nope 2 dogs, Beau is 10 months old and Molly is 10 years old!! Beau has very unusual markings for a poodle, note the eyebrows!! so he kinda looks like Molly who was jet black until about 2 years ago!! _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Are you kidding? As Bertrand Russel said, it must have taken ages for people to realize that a brace of pheasants and a couple of days are both instances of the number "two. " |

Beau is photos 1&3, Molly 2?
I thought that initially (from your captions), but changed what I wrote!
What I originally wrote was something like:
Distinguishing between them is like distinguishing between the Brown brothers (C&T --- not as bad as Nathan & Mitch). |

hehe, tru dat!!
so today and tomorrows challenges are fire and ice, or one or the other.
firstly i took some not bad pics of ice cooking on a glass platter my hubby said was fire proof - its not, or should i say, wasnt!!
So lots of the US participants have some very cool fire in the snow pics!!
i tried scotch on the rocks, plain ice, with a Macro lens, and got some clear but boring pics, so i went with a little birthday candle!! This is a SOOC pic, so im pretty chuffed with it!

sorry, Straight Out Of Camera!
ie. no photoshopping just very slight cropping!
Macros can tend to be a bit soft, so not having to sharpen for detail is a good effort! If you go back to the butterfly i didnt sharpen that either, and the ends of the wings are a little soft. but unless its a stylized pic i prefer SOOC!
although i have been guilty of softening a few wrinkles and adjusting a few curves on a self portrait! _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Are there reliable means of detecting whether a photo is SOOC or edited
(e.g. that can be used by magazine editors -- such as National Geographic, or a photography competition)? |

good question! i doubt it!
And it opens up the whole can of worms of just how damaging photo shopped images can be!
Im doing a 365 day Journey challenge, and i questioned the validity of photoshopped images the day we had Steam as a prompt. And i got royally shouted down by many a professional photographer! All the just for fun guys like me saw my side! Personally i want to learn how to take different pics, and i was pumping air when i got a good shot of steam!
yesterday though, it was speed, and i was stuck close to home, so i turned the ceiling fan on flat chat! And i learnt just what you can do with shutter speed! i got pics all the way from a blur to standing still. although it taught me something valuable, the pics were dead boring! So i set myself a goal to learn a bit in photoshop and turned a boring fan into, well two types of speed!! Tinkerbell is the dealer!!

Well not exactly today, but you've got to wait a little bit before dropping this stuff. Haven't gone fully public yet because Bec hasn't told her siblings who I have on my facebook and don't want them finding out that way |

You gonna be a dad again? Congrats.
me, I'm just happy. Spent the last week at the house up in Toc doing jobs, some things finished, many more started. Work in the morning, then either a shower or swim or both, then lunch and chill out of the heat.
Good week, I seriously don't miss being in an office at all, pretty much the only human contact for a week was with people manning the bar or cash register. Loved it. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Can you explain to me why Cam was selected ahead of Maxwell? _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
