Sure this is a promotional video, and everything is described as “amazing” and “incredible”, but the new home of the Eagles & Dockers looks really good.
60,000 seats in a brand new stadium with a train station purpose built out front.
One thing got me was how the teams actually run through a bar full of people in order to access the ground. In the same bar (known as the Locker Room) they will have a studio section where the post game coaches and players interviews will be held. Obviously you’d pay a huge premium to be in that bar on match day, but it would be an amazing close up experience.

It actually looks sensational!
Too small, no parking and our public transport system is deplorable! If you come over for a game, make sure you buy 11 drinks before the bars close and sit back for an hour or 2 before exiting the arena... the Casino is only a 10 minute stroll away, so that may be your best option.
It's massively undersized (shoulda been at least an 80,000 seat stadium) but that's how our backward governments roll over here.
The Alby is a really nice beer... no doubt it'll be $10 for a plastic cup of the mid, so bring your own in a nappy bag or hollowed out watermelon ... pack it next to your sangas coz the food will be cold and overpriced too. There will be the customary 59 people long Que to take a piss, so bring a water bottle to relieve yourself in.
Don't yell for or support any other team than the local one, the natives will complain and have you evicted before quarter time... should be awesome.
Can't wait to get there!

I toured AT&T Stadium in Nov 2017 (Dallas Cowboys stadium in the US).
They too run through a bar into the playing field. Looks like the architects and decision makers have taken note of the best of the best. _________________ Est. 2002 |

Do they lack tradies there? My nephew went over there to work on it with his boss and a couple of others, building handrails and stuff.
The run through sounds cool, and now I want to go to Dallas! _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

So would the CMO be happy if they banned grog and the bludger have to actually earn his own and not the taxpayers coin. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

ABC News has done an analysis of the merits/failures of the new Perth stadium:
Perth Stadium promises vs. reality — did we get what we paid for?
by Jacob Kagi, ABC News
West Australians were promised the new Perth Stadium would radically change their sport-watching experience, with a world-class venue capable of attracting major events.
Lavish promises were made, things like "the 60,000 seat venue would not have a bad seat" and it would deliver an "unparalleled" fan-first experience.
So now the long-awaited venue is open and West Australians are flocking to it, how does the stadium stack up against what we were promised? …

According to a friend who went to the BBL semi final last week the article is pretty accurate. the only thing not mentioned was the KFC bucket hats blocking her view of the game. She got caught out when the rather large person in front of her sat down causing her drink in the drink holder to drench her. She said the public transport aspect worked better than expected. |
