Thursday night. Bears at Lambeau. Pack wins 35:14 and goes in front in the head to head record between Green Bay and Chicago for the first time since the 1930s.
Go Pack, go! |

It's the end of the world as we know it.
Is Romo ready to go? |

YFE, why would you want an actual QB when you could place your "complete faith" in Hundley? |

^^^ That's not fair, OEP - your team has a quarterback. |

Just need an Offensive Line that won't get him killed. _________________ A Collingwood supporter since the egg was inseminated. |

Carson Wentz is broken. The NFC side of the playoffs just opened right up. Meanwhile, us Packers who have been forced to watch a quarterback who hasn’t been able to complete a TD pass to Jordy Nelson for 8 weeks are hoping against hope that Favre-lite can return this weekend and get us to the playoffs. |

Congratulations to Frank Gore - the former 49ers running back just reached 14,000 rushing yards in the final game of the season with the Colts. He's just one of 5 men to reach that target. He again reached 1,200 yards from scrimmage (that is, his combined receiving and rushing yardage) - that's the 12th season in a row that he's done so. A fine player and a consistently great career.
In other news, the Pats finish the regular season top of the AFC, the Steelers have the other AFC bye. The Eagles were shut out by Dallas but still finish top of the NFC and the Vikings have the other NFC bye. |

The regular season is done. The wild card games (3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5 in each Conference) next week will be:
Bills at Jags and Titans at Chiefs (AFC) and Falcons at Rams and Panthers at 'Aints (NFC). |

I have an NFL problem (besides the whole CTE issue, that is).
The problem is that, to the extent that I have a team, it is the Patriots, but their past actions have left me rather disconcerted. I could, I suppose, defect to the Steelers, to whom I also have some sort of link, but their QB is also rather disconcerting.
Hmmm.....
CTE, of course, is a much bigger worry, but I know the solution to that (though not how to convince the powers that be to adopt it). |

So, Wild Card round is done and dusted. In the NFC, the Panthers and the Rams lost and in the AFC, the Chiefs and the Bills finished up.
In Divisional Round, Atlanta go to Philly (8.35 am Sunday, AEDST), the Titans get to lose to the Pats at 12.15 pm on Sunday, Jacksonville are at Pittsburgh at 5.05 am on Monday (probably the best game of the round) and New Orleans are at Minnesota at 8.40 am (that should also be a good game).
My selections are Atlanta, Pats, Steelers and Vikes. |

Atlanta 3, Philly 0 at quarter-time in the first Divisional Round game. Free to air in HD on 73, if anyone wants to tune in. Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth are calling this one. Atlanta moved the ball well after Ajayi turned it over on the Eagles’ first possession but were stopped at a field goal. Philly has the ball at the Falcons’ 34. |
