Thanks Dave.
Maybe you could put what position they each play and maybe their height. I have an aversion to slow midgets. Hence my rants re J Blair. |

Love your work Dave.
Im pretty sure you would have found it a difficult exercise cause its just such an even open draft this time around.
You have inspired me and hopefully the posters who cast an eye over the kids should do their selections too. Everyone likes bragging rights.
1. Brisbane - L D - U
2. Freo - Dow
3. Carl - Raynor
4. North - Brayshaw
5. Freo - Naughton ( I think they will call his bluff )
6. Pies - Cerra
7. Saints - Stephenson
8. Saints - Fogarty
9. Dogs - Bonar
10. Carlton - Coffield
11. GWS - Murphy
12. Crows - Brander
13 Eagles - Allen
14. Swans - Clarke
15. Lions - Higgins
16. Bulldogs - Constable
17. Tigers - O'Brien
18. Brisbane - Richards
19. G C S - Clarke
20. Tigers - Sam Taylor W A ( also possible father / son Naish )
I tried to do mine as per a clubs needs as opposed to next best player but trying to understand a bottoms clubs on field priorities is as tough as trying to pick this draft T B H. |

If Freo get Cerra and Rayner they have just stolen the draft. |

We don't want a midfielder unless they have serious speed and great disposal on both feet.
We do need quality talls and De Goey is equipped to be the next Dustin Martin if he stops using his head as a suppository and makes the most of his talent so we don't need another potential clone.
Just pick someone who likes it physical and has some mongrel. (and good disposal) _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Good Job Mate. Why you think Freo go with Naughton over Cerra? _________________ I am Da Man |

That's our dilemma Stui. If Naughton isn't there at 6, then the reality is the next best tall, whoever it is, wouldn't be a top 10 pick in his own right.
Fogarty could play as a third tall but he won't play as a KPP unless he has a growth spurt. |

I think the Dockers will choose to pick him for the following reasons.
- They are in as much trouble as us for KPPs. Michael Johnsons career is nearly over and they also delisted Collins.
- Naughton wouldn't say what he said unless he knew the Dockers had a serious interest in him.
- The Dockers would much prefer to pick a local than an interstater ( even despite Naughtons comments )
- Also, the Dockers will know it's not a good look if they appear to be scared off by a draft picks " threats ". It just sends a message to Vic kids that they can say the same thing to the Dockers in the future because Naughton had bluffed them earlier. ( none of that means anything if the Dockers weren't planning to pick him anyway )
The get a mid at 2 which they really need to replace Mundy and then they have the big decision at five.
I went with Dow at two because he has a huge work ethic ( Lyon loves that in a player ) and he is fit enough to play mid field from day one. They need to get their hands on the ball first more often. He's a gun in close. |

Re. bragging rights, I think an accurate ranking list (i.e. just in order of who'll be best) may be even more impressive, though we'll have to wait at least a few years before anyone can start bragging about that.
Re. Naughton, it does look like he got stitched up by the reporter. There doesn't seem to be any evidence he said anything directly about Freo, and the video clip with his one sentence about "playing for the biggest club would be the way to go" or whatever doesn't show what question he was actually asked. (e.g. how would you interpret it if it turned out the reporter said: "We know you're a mad Magpie fan. How would it feel to get selected by the Pies?")
It's also possible that Freo already indicated to him that they would not take him. |

I think we'd be happy with one of Cerra, Naughton or Fogarty.
Can't believe Ed Richards is all of a sudden ranked so highly.
Would love to get him, but not for pick 6. Would be ideal to get him at 38, but he'll be well gone before that.
Also I'll be hoping that no one bids on Brown. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Richards will probably be gone in the low 10s or high 20s. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

anytime I want to put a smile on I just look at your list and notice that you have Nathan Murphy at pick 16.
