If candidate X was applying for the Collingwood senior coaching position and he said he wanted a mentor, would you take him?
A newbie coach who has never been head coach before might need a mentor.
Should a head coach who has been coaching for 6 years need a mentor? |

The confusion is quite understanding for those who have not been a coach. And we aren't talking about the local U11's, or even the local Seniors in almost all cases.
Look up the definition of Mentor for your own edification.
My interpretation of Mentor is not to do with Coaching matters, but to help with interpersonal skills. I'm not sure if that is the actual intent here but that's the way I read it.
Coaching is more than coming up with and teaching a Game Plan. _________________ Go Pies! |

It's also about providing the personalised structure and supports to get the most out of your team members at an individual level. |

Mentor? How about CFC empower the footy ops mgrs to actually run the department.
If I don't perform at work, I don't get a mentor. I have my boss start to manage my performance. If my performance does not at least cover the cost of employing me, then again, I'm on the outer.
After 7 seasons at the helm, what could he need to be coached on?
And then the Prez has the audacity to blame the "tax" for not having enough money to spend on specialist coaches. but there's enough for a "mentor". |

Agreed, years ago, I had a couple of beers with Gary, at my sons junior footy club. Great guy, huge footy brain, revved up my sons team for their GF, with a terrific speech, and they won. Be perfect to assist and mentor Bucks, especially after yesterdays huge win by Port. Yep, Get Him. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Prior to finals Geoff Walsh said they were interested in certain people but due to these people still involved in the finals nothing would be done at this time

we signed up John Longmuir
Ditto for Nick Maxwell after Giants loss Saturday so my question
