Hopefully he can contribute more in the second half, but doesn't look up to AFL level just yet. Either way it's crucial that he played this game. VFL level has been too easy for him and he needs to see that a lot of work is needed. _________________ Well done boys! |

I agree. Going into preseason as leading goalkicker in the VFL could have left the lad a tad complacent.
This game shows him exactly how much work he has to do, and he's had a box seat to a display of how it's done, with Elliot putting on a small forward clinic. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Great post. As I said in the GameDay thread, if there was a next week, Kirby would be dropped. He's been pretty ineffective for the first 75 minutes of the game.
Being almost there doesn't cut it in the big league. |

Kirby has like 15:22 to kick the 10 goals that everyone has promised he'd kick. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

He doesn't have the endurance for second efforts. Once he was tired (very early) he had none of his burst speed or power. Good taste for him. _________________ Magpies love pies(Lol) |

Absolutely Perthmagpie. He will understand just what a gap there is between VFL and AFL and will hopefully work all the more harder in the pre-season. |

No one was expecting miracles, particularly I a position damn hard to find the ball in. Give him a few games and we'll see what we have. _________________ Get back on top. |

Don't be too critical of this kid. Could be an important lesson for him. I thought his tacking and chasing were good. He needs to Get on the back of Varcoe or someone like him in preseason and be hell bent on being picked in round one of 2018. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

Didn't have the endurance for first efforts half the time _________________ Brown re his GF omission:

Better for the run.
Now he knows what it takes.
Doesn't look out of place when near the pill.
Just 4 touches, but 5 tackles as well.
Should've had a mark and goal in the third quarter.
Good learning experience.
His first game is now out of the way, he has a 100% AFL win percentage.
Good luck to KK... _________________ Est. 2002 |

At least he knows now that you can't be an AFL player without running power, no matter how talented. He's had a taste, now needs a big pre-season before coming back for the full meal. _________________ Well done boys! |

Just to be clear, I think this kid has a big future ans this game will be the making of him provided he takes on board how much work he has to do and gives it a massive pre season _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Let's not forget, he only racked up 3 less touches than Blair's 2017 average, in just his first game.
But...he didn't waste our midfield possessions by being the lead up target. _________________ Est. 2002 |
