Post subject: 2017 Finals Eligibility List | |
|
Per the request of MightyMagpie, here's this year's edition of the finals eligibility thread. Mind you, as of writing this, we're still a game outside the eight and not in there yet, but I like to keep people happy. Beats the alternative, I suppose.
I haven't found the 2017 copy of the eligibility rules, but in lieu of any amendment that I haven't heard about yet, here's how we (still) do this little tango...
Quote: | 20. Participation in Finals
(a) A Player who has not played in at least one AFL, VFL Senior Grade or Development League Home and Away Match in the relevant season will be ineligible to play in the Senior Grade Finals Series.
...
(b) Subject to Regulation 20(c) below, a Player who has played in an AFL Home and Away Match after 1 July in the relevant season will be ineligible to play in VFL Senior Grade or Development League Finals Series Matches unless that Player has played in a combined total of at least six (6) Senior Grade or Development League Home and Away Matches in the same season.
...
(g) Despite any other provision in Rule 20, where a Club does not field a Development League Team, an AFL listed Player must:
(i) qualify under Regulation 20(b); and
(ii) have played no more than 12 AFL Home and Away Matches, to be eligible to play in VFL Finals Series Matches.

Happy for anyone to check my math and point out where I've tripped up. That way, the Theory of Relativity will make more sense if there's a flaw corrected... _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat.

Langdon is unavailable. He will be captaining the seniors by round 23, I expect. |

Does Langdon have photos of you with one (or more) of Swoops Goats? _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

^^^ When you have Tommy's football ability, goats don't come into it.
Anyway, it was just a bit of fun exaggeration in this thread. How do you rate the prospect that Tommy plays all three remaining VFL games after getting 29 disposals at 114% efficiency at the weekend in the seniors? |

I reckon he played well, so the likelihood is remote at best.
I'd still rather he lose the dodgy man bun and free the locks. Maybe grow some stubble and really look like a 70's rocker. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Thanks. So this week's selection rules out Broomhead, Langdon and Smith it seems if I have read the above correctly. _________________ All We Can Be |

It does. I'll update the list shortly, to reflect both last week's and this week's selections.
Only player who now add to the list of the qualified is Blair, who needs to be dropped next week (like, pretty much every other week)... _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |

I updated it at half time yesterday. Pay attention to the metadata...
But, that is the final list of the eligible players. 21, with two long term injured to make for a squad of 19. But I have received some mail that McCarthy is actually a chance for next week, in spite of being listed as "season", so go figure... _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. Despite what others say, you are a most excellent contributor to this site.
Many thanks.
Potentially a strong lineup. _________________ All We Can Be |
