Yeah, not the most entertaining match, but it feels good to owe North one. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

It's hard to know how to feel about this game.
I was concerned before the match that the draw the week before it have taken the steam out of us.
We certainly didn't play polished football and at times it was damn right ugly but at the end of the day we won by 9 goals kept them under 60 scored over 110 and got 4 points hardly a bad night really when you consider the result
As a spectacle it wasn't one but for all its faults there were some real positives.
Could this be the game we look back on in years to come and say Scharenberg found his feet at AFL level. He was very good tonight and we seemed to go to him often when they blocked up our defensive 50 to deliver the outlet pass. He reads the game as good as anyone around and will on,y get better.
Treloar Adams JDG have really stepped up since the skipper has been out. I'm particularly impressed by Adams involvement in all aspects of the game. He's been kicking goals, winning clearances, playing the link up role and getting back in defence when needed. Has showed outstanding leadership as well as co captain.
Grundy should be safe they showed on fox that Grundy was near on his knees with Brown standing tall still when Brown looked to get the ball away lifting his left leg so with Grundy's weight hanging on his right side he basically collapsed over Grundy. If he gets ousted over this the tackle is dead
Moore has shown he's going to be a force. He's taking marks and leading hard and his work in th ruck has been very good.
Our whole defence was good again all contributed well and provided several important moments. Geez if we could add Lever it would be very good
Overall we got the job done and that's what counts
Next week is going to test our metal though over there
Interesting to see who comes in for greenwood |

Love your optimism Doris, but if Brodie is suspended we're stuffed!
Awful shame about Greenwood too. He is such a valuable player with his courage and ability to close the stars out of the game. |
If Brodie is suspended I'll stop watching AFL. You can't rub guys out just because someone gets injured. It's becoming a circus and the rot has to stop. Brown had the ball. That's your difference. The tackle was perfect. The umpires awarded a free to Brodie and that's that.
Christ I can't believe we actually have to defend the guy. _________________ No Pressure, No Diamonds

Idk... we won by a lot... but honestly, nth didn't look that bad in patches (minus Brown), they just didn't put it on the scoreboard. Our lack of skills... and defensively... the horror. _________________ All Aboard!! Choo Choo!!! |

Best game Crisp has ever played. I'm not his greatest fan but I'm surprised there has been so little love for him in the votes.
And, gee, it was just magnificent to see the Future Captain and the Captain with their brilliant hands, thinking and disposal - Sidey to Langdon, Langdon to Sidey and back.
Now that Langdon's hitting his straps, again, after that bad run with injuries, he looks unstoppable and his ball-use is just phenomenal. WHE was quite skilful, too. |

Perhaps his father has mentioned to him that even he couldn't win a Brownlow until he was allowed to play first ruck? |

Great to see the exuberance and spirit of the boys at the end of the game..... what happened to the the armchair warriors and their baying for the blood of Blair and Clangdon ?? ... the silence is deafening... [/b] |

Most are simply decrying that no one has put thier hand up to push Blair out of the side. Blair is hard trier but limited in ability - yes 3 goals against the cellar dwellers - but how many attempted tackle evasions over the years because he has no match awareness and overrates his evasive abilities?
I love his endeavour and his attitude but it is an indictment on the club that he is still playing firsts. However if young Kirby has a big preseason that WILL change. |

Crispy has been great down back and after being a little skeptical on Langdon he's really starting to show what he's capable of.
Dosen't panic and hits a target. |

If they are decrying that no one has put their hand up to push him out, give them a hard time , not Blair.. give him and any other whipping boys ( Langdon ) a bit of praise when they play well .. They are all Pies players and I for one support all of them |
