Looking forward to seeing this. I didn't want to lose Witts as he got better each year & it takes time for some taller Ruckman to get the hang of the game & mature: which is exactly what he's been doing this year with GC
Grundy I think is tired or carrying something as he has been beaten recently & in my view played a shocker 2 weeks ago _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

What did we get for Witts again? It's just a pity neither of them are really any good up forward. _________________ All Aboard!! Choo Choo!!!

Picks 44 and 62.
62 came into 57, from memory, after Academy and Father-Son bids. We used it to pick Daicos. _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |

We were never gunna be able to keep both, or Ceglar for that matter. We clearly made the right decision. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

Was very disappointed with the decision to get rid of Witts, and we will never be certain of the timing of the decision and when he knew about it, but his effort in the VFL preliminary was below ordinary.
It should be a good contest between the 2 _________________ "The last thing he expected WAS THE FIRST THING HE GOT!!!!!"

There is no wY we could have kept Witts, Cox and Grundy. I think we made the right decision.
Jury is still out on Cox. Grundy is a ripper although currently carrying an injury at the moment _________________ Now Retired - Every Day Is A Saturday |

Basically 2 first rucks who cannot play anywhere else.
Never worked with them both in the same side.
Always thought that Witts was the better tap ruckman, but Grundy better at everything else.
Will be interesting to see how they go against each other. |

Always thought Witts had potential and I think he will continue to develop into an excellent number one ruckman. Dissappointed that we got so little for him. Especially when I think about what we gave up for Guy Richards. Pick 16 IIRC.

Thought they pretty much broke even tonight.
Witts is still a lumbering nuff nuff. Grundy looks to be labouring with an injury. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Wits did some good things but he's still Witts. Few marks around the ground, nothing much at ground level, but a good tap ruckman. Grundy gives a lot more at ground level, and won on the night as a result. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

In reality we were left in a poor situation last season and traded out Witts at a time when he was always going to fetch a poor return.
We settled on Grundy as our No.1 ruck option in 2016 and the combination with Witts was never going to work as neither are great forward threats.
As a result Witts wanted more opportunity and given he's 18 months older than Grundy it was likely his best was always going to be from this season onwards.
In reality if he had of agreed to be part of the Treloar deal (assuming they wanted him) then it could have saved us a 2nd first round pick and been the best outcome for us.
Alas that didn't occur and unfortunately when you have two first ruck options of a similar age vying for the one spot the person who misses out looks for greener pastures elsewhere. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

GWS wouldn't want him, they have Lobb.
I thought he beat Grundy for most of the day but Grundy lifted in the last in some crucial contests.
Overall, if we could only keep one, we made the right choice IMO, but Witts will do well. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

I thought Witts beat Grundy for 3/4'rs but Grundy did some useful things in the last. Witts was dishing out handballs & taps to advantage to players like Ablett during the game.
According to the fox stats he has good HO to advantage this year. Be interesting to see what the HO to advantage were for this game. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

It was a pretty even contest for most of the day, with Witts probably slightly on top early on, but Grundy taking control in the last quarter when the game needed to be won. |
