As for rankings aren't those done after the end of each test? Rather presumptious to proclaim Lara as the ultimate number 1 like some here seem to be.[/quote]


Lara was ranked no 1 before his double hundred the other day and has been no1 for quite a while now.

Lara only got to #1 after his double ton. Hayden had been there for a while.

Hayden had come off a series against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.....lol

I do agree that Hayden has been very consistent however i would question whether he has faced a real top line bowler in the Quality of an Ambrose or Akram at their prime.
