Bring the same heat and intensity we did Friday, and we can definitely win this one. The tiges are not the dogs, nowhere near them, hit em hard and pressure and more pressure, and tag Martin like crazy, and they will wilt. Its a huge game for us, already almost a line in the sand game, time for us to step up bigtime. How come the league gave the tiges two Thursday nights in a row, pretty weird, to say the very least, like most things the league does nowdays. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Need to tweak the forward line which didn't make the most of its opportunities against the Bulldogs. Then you look at who's available from our injured midfield group of players to return to the side. From what Buckley said after the game wouldn't expect any changes to the backline. So at most I would expect no more than 2-3 changes to the side. |

Blair out for DeGoey ?? .Broomhead will do. Elliot for Cox. Aish for Goldsack.I hear people calling for Mayne but I thought he played well and will stay if Varcoe gets time.Would be nice to see Wells in for Varcoe.Blair must not play anymore. |

Surely Blair will be dropped. If the selection committee is going to make sure players get a game based on form and not name then Blair has to go. He was simply awful.
Must win game IMHO. We've already lost to one of teams we're battling for for a 5-8 and Richmond are another. In addition to beating the bottom 7-8 teams, we need to win games against the Tigers, Dees, Saints, Dons, Port and the other teams we're battling against to make the finals.
Out - Varcoe (suspended), Blair and Cox
In - whoever isn't injured this week during training.
Pies by 18 if we make these changes
Tigers by 34 if we keep Blair and Cox in the team

Definitely have to replace Blair. Broomhead would be the obvious choice. Elliot of course goes in if fit, but I doubt that he will be. Aish will replace a suspended Varcoe. Mayne stays where he is, as I thought he was good on Friday night and deserves to remain. I would like to see another midfielder come in to replace Cox, and then Sidey can go forward more and play as a forward. Not sure who is available though, given that 3 midfielders (Wills, Greenwood and De Goey) are unavailable. Is Josh Thomas able to play? |

Tigers beat last year's worst team by 40
Pies list to last year's best team by 14
Hard to identify a formline for this one.
If we try to tackle Martin around his arms and not his waist, I'll vomit. He ragdolled us last year. It was embarrassing.
Richmond's new fleet of small forwards (Rioli, Butler, Costagna) have the potential to destroy us the way we 'handled' the pill on the deck inside D50. _________________ Est. 2002 |

We'll be out of the 8 by the end of round 1. That's a certainty.
We'll be 11th at best. |

We need small crumbling forwards with pace and skill. Say, like Thomas, Medhurst, Davis and Didak. If we get guys of that standard in, we're not far off a genuinely competitive forward line. 14 goals a game from the 4 forward smalls - how hard can that be? Add that to a haul of 5 amongst the mids, a couple from ruckmen going forward and, say, 3 to 5 from the tall forwards and it starts to look like a hard team to defend against. |

What we need to do is just making do with what we got, and develop a plan around that as best we can.
The Pies have enough of the right cattle to be fairly competitive if we get the best out of it and be a little smarter. Unfortunately we're a very rigid side.
And we all know what the problem is. |

Debut Kirby if Elliott is not ready. Indigenous talent grows with the challenge, look at the Riolis and even the new Carlton guy apparently. Get him in there and tell him to go front and square.
You can't drop Cox after one game and Mayne was good. Smith better be much tighter on his opponent this week after letting Hunter run riot.
You can drop weeman though, he's been a great servant but give someone else a go ala him coming in for lockyer/obree in 2010.
Me
In: Aish, Kirby
Out: Varcoe [susp], Blair
Bucks
In: Aish
Out: Varcoe [susp]
On Cox and Moore. FFS why can't we start one of them from the goal square instead of everyone being out at CHF or midway at the bounces. Start some forwards deep so that you actually create space to run forward into instead of this, kick over the head, run onto it, stuff. Try something new! [old] _________________ Get back on top. |
