DeGoey played the first Jlt game against Essendon
Missed last week against Fremantle.
Now not picked to play against Richmond.
Is he injured?
Must be doubtful for round 1.
Dose anyone know what's going on with him? |

Read this week that he was in the rehab group due to a toe injury.
By the read of the article I don't think it is too serious, so probably just a precaution to sit out this week, and still likely to be available round 1. |

The injury list on the web site is laughable.
They updated it on Monday, well sort of.
All they did was add an update on Grundy, every other player on there is the same as they were a few weeks back.
That Elliott report is not new either.
Ordinary effort considering we have a large media department now.

The AFL really should enforce this more. In American sports you have to accurately update your injury list under rule. |

Dont know why we cant have a 52 week club reveiw / news as said we have a media dept
Look at the job they did on our pre season interclub practice match and while maybe not Channel Seven we didnt get Murkavaney drooling over Cyrol
Come on Ed your a TV giant what about it _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Some sort of toe complaint for De Goey. Should be right for round 1 and should be in the 22 after a BOG in the Essendon match _________________ One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership |

I take any of our injury reports with a grain of salt.
The proof is if the player is on the training track and/or selected to play.
Elliot was going to miss a couple of training sessions which is now into it's 3rd week. Smith rolled his ankle after Elliot and has been named to play Saturday which says to me Elliot's injury is worse than they are making out. He may still be OK for Round 1. _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

Don't think it's an issue with with right toe as he was kicking the football today without any discomfort (unless it's with his left toe). He did all at training except the match sim so I don't think there's any major issue with him. |

Wonder did players have smallish injury (as against cartlige or hammy etc) back bsfore media exposure
You saw the 18 plus 19th and 20th in Friday Sun and that was it
A sore toe gets notoriety big time--just a sore toe and bet Lou Richards or Bob Rose played week in and week out not complaining
They got paid by the game then

I think what it is, is that Collingwood has a bad history of injury over the last 3 years. This year they have therefore approached the preseason with a different mindset, namely a more individualised training program where each player has individual goals and targets and if he can't meet his targets, they pull his training and redesign his training. Because of this more conservative approach I think players are pulled from training and withdrawn from practice, even though they could play if they really had to. So I wouldn't attach too much significance to Wells and Elliot not being at training today. If they had to play I'm sure they would. It's just the club taking a very conservative approach. |
