Went down to training this morning but fled when the heavens opened up about 11:00 o'clock. Other than Darcy Moore, Goldsack and Mason Cox, I thought everybody was there, including Daniel Wells who poked his head out at one stage, then went back indoors. We have a few on restricted programs, or in the rehab group, including Broomhead, Ramsay, Oxley, Sier, Crocker, Reid, McCarthy and McLarty. The boys looked very sharp out on the ground in the match play exercise. Of those players participating in the match play Callum Brown continues to impress, while Schade and Dunn blend in with the main group and Kirby and Daicos struggle a bit to keep up (as you would expect). Max Lynch was doing specialised ruck training with Grundy and White, supervised by Matt Rendall and Anthony Rocca. Lynch has a beautiful body shape for a ruckman, just needs the opportunity to train and play for the club to prove himself. Sier is the other one who has the perfect build for an AFL footballer. He has a lot to prove with the number 36 on his back. |

Good idea having them down in Mornington. So many new faces in the team. A few like Daicos that don't have bodies that are AFL ready can only benefit from the physical challenges on the sand dunes, while others are in need of a bit of team bonding to get used to their new teammates. |

One of Australia's greatest Olympian's trained on the dunes at Portsea under the guidence
of Percy Cerruty as part of preparation for 1960 Olympics
Crusty bugger old Perc who believed in pushing yourself on difficult terrain built power into your body
Herb believed it was paramount to his preparation for his sport running miles under 4 minutes
Some thing old something new --but good _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Gee I forgot how much Scharenberg looks like a footballer
God to see Daicos and Smith up the front leading a run
Browns frame looks better suited to footy |

Loved what I saw of him today at training this morning. Not overly quick but uses the ball well and gets enough of it. Also has a compact build even though he is a bit short (similar build to Broomhead). No reason to think we won't get any game time in the AFL next year. |

Apparently it's just a corky and nothing of serious concern.
Should be fine when the players are back training after the Christmas and New Year break. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |
