Walked into the office where my colleagues were & felt like John wayne & said I fought off 4 of them single handedly!!
Turns out it was his blood as I had called for security (code grey) but the switch board operator whose first language is not english sent the security to the place to the wrong place ( I was very clear).
I had the phucker on the trolley with my forearm over his jaw so he would not spit on me further (thank god I was wearing glasses) & I asked other staff to get a blanket & hold his legs down.
Had security in place but still needed to assess him to make sure he was not going to suicide or kill others (he hand't been assessed but was hostile & nasty to the ED staff & my night shift colleague).
Assessed, escorted off the premises & I'm getting him charged.
Had a long hot shower & made myself a nice pot of tea with real tea leaves & took my time the rest of the shift! ( I was offered to go home but felt I didn't need to)
Fast FWD to recent days & I assess a young man who is suicidal, homeless & penniless. look him up: barely any contact except recently with alerts for: aggression, violence, & multiple past incarcerations. Assessed him in a nice intimate setting with 4 burley security guards (which I often do if there is any hx of risk or aggression / violence hx = history) |
Gees you deserve a combat bonus |
I'm used to verbal abuse of mostly unwell people however (see my reply to Stui above) this was a first for me in my career. On eof my colleagues was assaulted 3 times this year.
ED & emergency staff cop far too much. There was a police officer who was badly kicked in the knee in ED. Quickly went over & introduced myself (as I work with police a couple of times a week) - all she wanted was a cup of tea while she was waiting with a supportive senior police officer. An ice affected turd they were arresting. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

I've been on the glucosamine but right now my body feels like I've been hit by a truck.
Had the day off, removalists came today to deliver all mums stuff. Most went in the shed but a bit came in the house. I did some moving before they got here and then the unpacking but what killed me (and nearly the removalists) was mums bed.
The bed base is seriously old, steel side frames, timber ends and all this spring stuff so the thing is tensioned big time.
The blokes who dismantled the bed must have undone the bolts that held the base together, which means we had to re-bolt the timber ends into the steel while fighting against the springs to re-tension it.
They had a few goes before I went in to help. They had 3 corners done but couldn't get the last one. We stood it up and being the heaviest I tried to stand on the timber and pull upwards on the frame but I couldn't get it to the mark and hold it long enough. The little maori bloke jumped on and it took the two of us. One of the ribs under the bed base got snapped and I drilled and bolted it back together.
Got shit everywhere and the new shed is just about chockas.
Never mind, mum has her own bed and dressing table back, the massive buffet / display unit is installed and a lot of the crystal is in it and I've got a shitpile of work to do on the weekends left between now and Christmas. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Thanks PTID just what I needed after a particularly bad day of dealing with moronic numpties - I think they have started a cult at work and are recruiting at a rapid rate
Beautiful animals but as usual the almighty dollar always wins unfortunately!
I am hoping the Donald sends septic land into economic disaster so that these dickwads (including his own vermin sons) who travel the world paying to "hunt" animals don't have enough money to do so!!! Either that or they all get run over by a bus - I"m not fussed which!
BTW - where have you visited during your time in Eire? Have you been to the Connemarra or Galway Bay or driven the Antrim coast yet? _________________ “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” |

After the wrestling event I worked at I have been getting a bit of harassment, some people aren't very kind with the show and my performance. While I get that I wasn't good that night, I was thrown to the wolves in doing something I wasn't trained to do. Since then my weight and other things have been the target of these trolls.
Kinda sad but I'm slowly over it.
The next night when we were packing things up I had a very bad fall hitting my head pretty hard into the concrete and breaking some ribs. I blacked out for a bit and was taken to the local hospital. My ego has taken a massive bruising as well as my body.
It is probably lucky after my head crashed into the ground that nothing other than a lot of cuts and bruises and broken bones happened.
The pain is slowly pissing me off I cannot sleep or do much, and the bad comments aren't helping me a lot. Kinda makes me feel like I've let some friends down with the performance that night.
Apparently I wasn't that bad, it was shown that I was nervous and all, but a lot went wrong that night, like not having the right info and the music guy sucked. But have taken some very bad comments since. Kinda a bit depressed over it all really. _________________ avg

Hey mate, chin up, as long as it doesn't hurt too much!
What exactly was your job? Was it the first time at it? Only way you learn/improve is by trying, and those trolls? Tell them to get off their arses and do it!
Look after yourself mate, not to please anyone else or to shut them up, but because you deserve it.
Doing a not so good job doesn't make you a failure, it just means you work harder next time, you are only a failure when you quit.
You got this

I was meant to be apart of the commentary team for the night, we were doing a live stream of the show. One commentator wasnt going to come due to being sick, and another just no showed due to work commitments. So I was left to do the ring announcing, due to the weather and it being an outdoor event we didn't have much time to go over stuff as the rain set in around 11, we were setting the ring up and then meant to go over the show stuff.
I did the interview which was meant to start after I introduced the show, the DJ we got in completely screwed me all night with the lack of music, and playing it at the wrong time so the tag team came out before they were meant to and it was a nightmare after that.
The microphone cut out most of the night due to apparent interference all night. I had gotten some advice by the wrestlers, though, the advice on waiting for the music would have been handy if the music was played as it should.
The only positive is I am going to be given the job of commentary and playing the music since we're going to use a program we use for radio. The money going to the DJ is going to go towards my flights.
Ribs are hurting like hell, but at least that was the only real damage. _________________ avg
