Collingwood welcomed its five draftees to the training track on Friday, but coach Mick Malthouse says his expectations for the youngsters in their first year are modest.

Malthouse says the club’s five recruits from the National AFL Draft - key position prospect Billy Morrison, ruckman Brent Hall, Brayden Shaw, midfielder Julian Rowe and Heath Shaw - will not be the difference in Collingwood, which has been unsuccessful in the past two grand finals, improving in 2004.

You can't expect guys to walk into the senior side and make a an impact so I totally agree with MM on this. I think that the guys who were taken in the previous 2 or 3 drafts are the ones that need to step up and make the difference next year
