There have been several ruckmen delisted since the end of the season. Even though the Doggies only used him twice in the firsts this season I still think Will Minson is the best of them. We should rookie him. He should only be used if Grundy is injured but if Grundy is injured he should be used rather than White, Cox, Keeffe or Moore for the reasons Stui mentions above. If we do rookie Minson then we can let Gault go back to the WAFL. _________________ Born and raised in Black and White |

This would seem to make sense given the backline experience and positional play that has exited. I would be quite happy for this to occur, but would find it unbelievably difficult cheering on a Silvagni...
I can't think of any further culling - there have been enough outs already - with only Gault to still be announced.
I would think a mature age ruckman (or someone like Claremont's Jeremy Goddard) to be picked up either late in the National draft, or via the rookie draft to cover ruck stocks. |
Although, I believe Lachlan Howe performed well in the 2nd half of the year? |
I'm a fan, think he's got lots of upside. This season is his 1st full season back after an ACL. Played largely 2nd ruck with Witts and had a few really great games. Can hold his own as a KPF, strong mark, generally converts his chances. I think the club could do worse than commit to taking 1 VFL player each year onto the rookie list. |

nb, by "capable" I don't mean a good option, white, keeffe and cox are purely second rucks and we don't want Moore in the ruck. That leaves Gault unless we get another ruckman for backup. |
There was a 10 October article in the WA press that he had signed at South Fremantle. Someone posted it and I read the link at the time - it was quite definite. |
I think most of those contracts would have a get out clause if AFL club opportunities arise. |

This would be a good option... Take a VFL listed player each year onto either the rookie or primary list... Give fringe AFL talent incentive to sign on with the Pies VFL team as there is understanding that 1 per year will be promoted.
I like it! |

Hmmm... tempting, but i doubt the club will do anymore culling in 2016. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

So if I can recall correctly here are our ins and outs"
Outs:
Swan
Tooves
Caff
Brown
Gault
Cloke
Williams
Witts
Goodyear
Frost
Ins:
Mayne
Wells
Dunn
Hoskin-Elliott
(Daicos)
(Brown)
By my reckoning, we have space for another 4 players, though this could be partly achieved I guess by promoting one or more of Cox, Keeffe and Thomas off our rookie list. Apart from drafting Daics and Brown, I think we'll draft at least 2 other players.

Correct rude we need 4 more players. One would assume Keefe and Thomas would come onto the main list and Cox is still free to be on rookie list plus we will draft at least one other player other than Daicos and Brwon most likely with pick 28 who will get a senior spot. We may also promote someone like lachie Howe to a rookie spot and pick up someone as a delisted player from another club like a Silvagni or alike as depth.
Can't see us using more draft picks lower than 61 really just doesn't make sense |

So hang on, what's the list limit? As in the most players a club can have? _________________ "If at first you dont succeed...

The maximum senior list amount is 40, with the minimum being 38.
Clubs can take up to 6 Category A rookies if they run with a senior list of 38, 5 Category A rookies if they run with a senior list of 39 or 4 Category A rookies if they run with a senior list of 40.
In addition, clubs can sign a maximum of 3 Category B rookies, who sit outside the regular Category A rookie list and the salary cap. Category B rookies can be kids from either a non-Aussie rules background/pathway, from the new multicultural and Indigenous academies or on international scholarships, such as our very own Mason Cox.
So, 44 players across the senior and Category A rookie lists + 3 Category B rookies = a maximum of 47 filled jumpers. _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |

I'd play Blair in the ruck before Neverrit got a game. |
