Darren Jarman is suggesting that Collingwood has contacted Paul Roos to secure him as senior coach in FY18.
This poll is offered to save us all some time...

Firstly, it was Andrew Jarman.
Secondly, Eddie has said we have not spoken to Roos.
Thirdly, I don't understand as a mod why you would post such a topic. It is just going to generate the same posts as usual, those bagging Bucks, those sticking up for him and those sitting in the middle saying let's see what happens in 2017.
Personally, I believe that we need to be united as members/supporters and get behind the club, get behind the coach that we know will be coaching us in 2017 and get behind the players that are on our list in 2017. There is no point in a) worrying about or reacting to external commentary re the coach or b) focusing on players that are no longer playing for Collingwood.
One thing we all should be able to agree with is that we hope that Collingwood in 2017 plays good football and that good football sees us back where we belong, in the finals. |

Roo$$$$ likes the money,so it's quite possible that he's open to the idea of coaching again. |

God I hope not. I am not a Buckley as coach fan, but I would prefer Buckley to Roos any day of the week. |

Colligwood has not spoken to Roos just like they never spoke to Gubby. |

Heard whispers about Roos being linked to us over the last 12 months, but it's probably pub talk rather than anything of real substance.
I suspect this fits into the "highly unlikely" category and it will be impossible if we have a good year next year. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

I see were MT is coming from stating we should be supporting bucks. Conversely as a club/business we should at all times be resolute in making sure the club has the best available personal in each department.
Whilst I wouldn't for one second think we are already looking for Bucks replacement if 2017 goes pear shape sounding out someone like Roos makes sense. He has stated he isn't interested in coaching in the near futures he's moving to the USA with his wife who's American to do other things.
We may have asked would he be interested in a mentoring role similar to the Dee's job leaving Bucks in charge and him providing guidance.
If 2017 goes to plan then we won't be needing a new coach but if things don't work out as I've said before Bucks has stated he expects to be gone.
I for one have always thought if you have a novice coach you need a experience mentor who's happy to take a back seat and guide a new coach.
Personally I thinking purely media speculation again |
