What if pick 105 turns out to be another Chris Grant?
Black is a spud that couldn't get a game at North who had Petrie and Waite trolling around. Even Majak Daw was preferred to him.
I'd rather have the pick, even if it may not be used. | Where are we going? |

I have no idea why the Cats want Black, unless they think they can bring back the talent he had a few years back when he was starring. He really went back pretty quick.
That is right you never know what any pick will become, I mean we got Burns late pick and look how it ended. Or we could use it on a delisted player still left over who knows.

I honestly think we should look at bringing back Jason Cloke. Maybe Cameron Cloke.

Because the club doesn't rate Black so what's the point of facilitating any trade. I'm surprised that Cats wanted Black. |

i think that we might upgrade 4 rookies this year if i'm not mistaken. Thomas, Keefe, Cox and Smith. With pick 105, you can use a low pick on that upgrade without giving up points (which we might need for Brown/Daicos). We got quite a lot of 0 point draft picks and i bet it was specifically for the upgrades. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

This is obviously correct. The late picks are valuable for rookie upgrades exactly because other clubs don't really value them but, at the same time, they don't cost us any real draft position. This year's strategy seems to be to upgrade some of the rookies (at least Smith and Keeffe, both of whom will likely be in the round 1 starting 22) and be in a position to bid for the two F/S players. Presumably, we would like to use the second rounder in the draft proper if it isn't required to make the points for Brown or Daicos. |
