John Davison is doing what he does best. Making quick runs.
He's scored 59 from 48 balls and helped Cosgrove (54) achieve a first innings lead for the Redbacks.
They have added 108 from 110 balls. _________________ Donny.

Davidson is one of the best players around to watch when he is smashing them like that. I wish we still had him in Victoria |

It's 8/372 as thunderstorms hit the Adelaide oval.
Deitz, Davison and Cosgrove have already assured it was a good day for The Redbacks. They are over 100 ahead and Cosgrove is still there, on 104 n.o. _________________ Donny.

Here's a good example of a team taking the initiative.
Davison's innings was slightly better than run-a-ball but Cosgrove wasn't too far behind. 104 from 133 balls is quite fast at first class level.
This puts them in a great position to force an outright. With overs to come today, depending on the thunderstorms, they have a lead of 105 and two days left. _________________ Donny.

I hate to say it but one more failure by Slater, could see him playing club cricket for a while. |

What a difference a class bowler can make !
The Redbacks need 97 runs to win with 8 wickets in hand. This situation was aided greatly by 5 wickets for 54 from Jason Gillespie who started by removing Slater for a duck and finished by taking the last 4 wickets in 7 balls.
Greg Blewett chipped in with the wickets of Jaques for 46 and Mark Waugh for 29.
The Redbacks needed 135 to win. Matt Nicholson, also a class bowler, claimed Deitz in his first over and Don Nash removed Fitzgerald (15) and the score at stumps was 2/38. _________________ Donny.

Gillespie tears through Blues
November 20, 2003 Fox Sports
AUSTRALIAN Test paceman Jason Gillespie took four wickets in seven balls to bring an abrupt end to the New South Wales second innings and put South Australia in control of the Pura Cup match at Adelaide Oval.
At stumps on day three, SA, set a target of 135 for outright victory, were 2-38 in their second innings, with Greg Blewett on 20 and Gillespie, acting as nightwatchman, on three.
NSW had looked likely to set SA a much more formidable run chase when they were 6-261 in their second innings late today.
But Gillespie tore through the lower order with three wickets in the 91st over of the innings to make it 9-266, then took the final wicket with the first ball of his next over to end the NSW second innings on 267.
In the process he took 4-5 in seven balls with three of the wickets, those of Brad Haddin (21), Matt Nicholson (0) and Don Nash (11), coming from LBWs and the other, Stuart Clark (nought), caught behind.
Gillespie, in his comeback match after five weeks sidelined through injury, finished with 5-54 from 22.1 overs to go with his 2-46 in the first innings for match figures of 7-100.
It vindicated the decision of SA skipper Blewett not to take the new ball after 80 overs when the score was 5-215. The Blues lost 5-52 from that point on a wearing pitch.
The first of those wickets to fall was that of Mark Waugh (29), who chipped a ball off his pads from Blewett straight to Mark Higgs, one of two fieldsmen standing close together at short mid-wicket.
Blewett finished with 2-29 from 12 overs, while Simon Katich top-scored for the Blues with 69. _________________ Donny.
