Post subject: Exemption for Cox to play VFL finals? | |

Based on him missing 1 VFL game as an AFL ambassador, worth looking into IMO. _________________ Defender...........

Interesting.
I think he should be given the ok to play considering he was representing and promoting the game.
We'll see what the club and the VFL do. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Happy for the club to ask the question. Just don't be surprised when AFL Victoria turn them down... _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |

I sincerely doubt it, for numerous reasons. What does the AFL have to gain out of it? And why would they compromise the integrity of the VFL competition, such as it is?
Besides, Cox also missed the game against Port Melbourne with a shoulder injury that he jagged against Richmond the week before. Who is to say that Cox wouldn't have been dropped after that debacle were he not injured?
So, while the VPOTUS thing is true to a point, it wasn't the only reason why he has failed to make it to the necessary 6 AFL games (and it's possible he may even play against Hawthorn anyway)... _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |

The AFL are not in the habit of making accomodations to Collingwood, we are simply the cash cows, nothing more.
That said, if we could put a dollar value on the game's first big yank playing in a Grand Final, they might see the benefit.
Eddie could put it to them... provided no overseas celebrities are in town, of course. _________________ "If at first you dont succeed...

Why would they bother? They clearly don't need another tall in the VFL side come finals... |

I disagree, think they'd love him working out of the goal square and providing an occasional 2nd ruck option through the finals campaign.
Witts, Howe, Gualt and Close still available does mean we have options though. |

^ I think eddiesmith is having a crack at the club for promoting Cloke to the seniors. _________________ How would Siri know when to answer "Hey Siri" unless it is listening in to everything you say? |
