Australia 51/0 (12.3 ov).
Australia RR 4.13
Last 10 ovs 49/0 RR 4.90
Min overs remaining 70.4
Great win coming up just like I predicted!!!
SL have in this entire series depend solely on just ONE (on rare occasions maybe two) batsmen to fire and get them out of trouble.
When the Aussie bats finally get going today, it will be a bloody sensational win!!! _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine! |

In their second innings, in this Test, 6 of the top 8 bats scored 22 or more - including a 43, a 65 and a 115. _________________ Donny.

Depressing absolutely depressing.
Can't handle the spinning ball in south asia
and can't handle the late swinging ball in England.
So Donny any good batsman coming through?
Hope they are not all from NSW as they have been for 30 years. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Yes, but none are getting much experience against sub-continent spin - or, for that matter, good swing bowling.
Even when Warne was around, he played few Shield matches because of international duties. The last good swing bowler I can think of was Damien Fleming who played less, internationally, than Warne but also played few other first class matches.
Nathan Bracken was deadly in ideal conditions but very ordinary, otherwise.
However, it's important to remember Australia was the #1 Test nation before this 0-3 result, so they must've been doing a lot right, against other Countries. _________________ Donny.

Further thought:
I think this series result is good for the game, in general.
After Sri Lanka's 0-2 series in England, things were bad for them. With no Malinga, Murali, Jayawardene or Sangakkara, it all looked downhill.
It's really no fun when one Country dominates (Windies, with their battery of quicks. Australia, during the Waughs, McWarne, Ponting, Hayden, Gilly etc.). All the others were playing for second.
I was happy to see Pakistan wallop the Poms in the most recent Test, on the back of an amazing double ton by Younis Khan.
So, the recent domination by Sth. Africa, India and Australia is in flux, and that's good. _________________ Donny.

Thanks for that.
I agree with the general drift of what you said.
But we haven't been much chop in India for a long time.
I really don't like 20/20 and one day games.
I just love test cricket.
The batting list is not cutting it with me.
I just cannot get excited about the middle order. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |
