Bloody hell! What game were they watching? Were Maynard and Treloar invisible?! I'm stunned that Maynard hasn't got a vote yet! Nor did Jono Marsh get one last week, clearly this is about coaches pets, and further proof that Buckley has no idea at all. Pendles was absolutely great in the first, very good in the second, and cruised a bit in the second half, probably paying more attention to the side as a whole. Only 4 votes for Big Brodes is a travesty, he was BOG, and for me Adz, Maynard & Reid were standouts. _________________ "If at first you dont succeed...

You are, of course, entitled to your own view about who played best but, FWIW, no-one who voted in the GB Medal thread thought that either Treloar or Maynard were in our best 5. At a quick glance, most seemed to think that our three best players (in whatever order) were Pendlebury, Grundy and Reid. Quite a few gave Sinclair votes, as well - and a couple of us (not me) rated him as second best Collingwood player.
Without wanting to engage in discussion about coaches playing favourites, I do note that Bolton also rated Pendlebury best on ground and that one coach thought Sinclair was second-best and the other thought he was third-best. The only real difference of opinion from the coaches about the best Collingwood players is that one thought that either Reid or Grundy was second-best on the ground and the other gave that player no votes (the only way they can each have received 4 votes, given that Pendlebury got both 5s and Sinclair's 7 must therefore be a 4 and a 3, is if one of them received 4 and 0 and the other received 2 and 2).
This is actually a week where the coaches' votes show a reasonable degree of similarity with what most people watching the game and voting in the GB Medal seem to have thought. That isn't always the case.
If it helps to say so, I thought Treloar was poor (I would have rated him in our bottom half - and probably our bottom 5 on the day) and Maynard wasn't our worst but nor was he one of our best 10. |

I'd agree, 1 of the few games he got less than 30 possies. Strangely spent a lot of time on the pine at the start of the game so maybe he just wasn't quite 100% on the night. |

I had Pendles, Grundy, Reid as our top 3 too.
Didn't give treloar votes either.
Thought Simpson was good for the Blues.
Could have given votes to Sinclair, but went with Goldsack and Blair instead.
No major issues with how the Coaches saw it for mine _________________ One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership |

Grimes and Neale had big games in the Dees/Freo match.
Trav and Grundy starred for us.
Dangerfield had a massive first quarter but was held after that in Geelong's loss. Jack was Sydney's best with 10 tackles, 3 goals and 24 disposals.
Hodge and Lewis were best for the Hawks against PA. _________________ Donny.

Interesting voting this week.
Grundy got a 5 and a 4, Adams a 5 and a 3, Cloke a 4 and a 2, Sidey a 3 and a 2 and Howe a 1. Thus, one coach must have voted 5 Grundy, 4 Cloke, 3 Adams, 2 Sidey and the other must have voted 5 Adams, 4 Grundy, 3 Sidey, 2 Cloke. It is impossible to say which of those sets of votes also allocated Howe the 1. |
