If you want to get Hoskin-Elliott to Collingwood using Witts, it will have to be through a 3-way trade. On that score, I could see Richmond making a play for him... |

Cox has not shown anywhere near enough as a ruckman to be classified as one. Once you ignore his being an American and how far he has come he is a very average ruckman. His field play is poor and makes White look like Dean Cox.
Also Witts has refused to go to GWS |
I disagree on Cox as a Ruckman, he's actually very good at stoppages. He has very good hands and getting better.
Around the ground I'd put Witts in front of him but give Cox another 12 months and it may be different (or not)
BTW, I believe trading Witts would be lunacy. We've invested all the time into him and would be selling him right before the dividends start to pay. |
And if Grundy gets injured White would be our number 1 ruckman a fact that needs to be pointed out repeatedly to the trade Witts camp. _________________ Carlscum 120 years being cheating scum |

I would have Cox ahead of Witts any time.
Has got a better footy brain, has some aggro and can actually take a mark.
All things Witts is sadly missing after all these years.
Witts and something for Hoskin-Elliott! Bring it on. _________________ Jatsad - That is all |

Witts and development are effectively an oxymoron. Can anyone tell me a single game that Witts has been:
* best on ground or
* hurt an opponent or
* scared an opponent or
* performed some meaningful act on the ground??
I always look for the good and possible in a player before putting a line through their name. I just can't remember any remarkable thing he has done.. _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

Lobb is a forward, Simpson a dud and Mumford's body has 30 games left in it. Take it to the bank! |
Lobb was drafted as a ruckman and can definitely play there, Simpson is adequate for their needs as a pure backup and Mumford will be managed out of necessity to bulldoze their way to a flag. Take it to the bank, Witts will not become a Giant if traded.
May the best bank win... _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |

Witts for Hoskin-Elliot? Sure, maybe we could swap Golds for Dangerfield whilst we're at it. _________________ Defender...........

Who says we are looking at WHE anyway? What has he done in his AFL career to warrant us chasing him? Besides being a low draft pick he has shown very little. Just like O'Rourke who was a number 2 pick but spends most of his time running around for Box Hill. Besides Witts apparently refused to move to Sydney last year so I don't see how we can trade him there this year. He will be out of contract & can pretty much determine his own fate. |

Bit tough on poor Witts. Did the webbing in his hand the first game and gets dropped one game back. Grundy is playing too well for Witts to get back into the side but he's still very young and developing in the role. He also plays at a much higher level in the VFL. The two great Western Australian ruckmen in Cox and Sandilands never got going till they hit 25. |

I think we're a bit skinny in the Rucks without Witts.
Not convinced on WHE either. Has some athleticism and skill, but should be getting a game at GWS if he was such a star.
Obviously not seen to be as good as Scully, Steele, Whitfield, Palmer who are all getting games regularly in front of him.
He's also proven very injury prone. Not exactly what we should be chasing given our poor injury management track record. _________________ One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership |

Yep, this. I still think Witts is a better ruckman than Grundy, Grundy a better follower. The emergence of Cox though means we are likely to play 1 ruckman. Come the trade period it will be interesting to see if Witts is willing to bide his time in the VFL awaiting another shot. |

I laugh at those who think Witt's is better than Grundy or the fact we invested a lot of time in him crap, Christ he isn't even better than Cox, White, Keefe or Wyatt...

With ruck stocks comprising Grundy, Cox, White, Wyatt and possibly Keeffe (he is 204 cms after all), I reckon Witts is definitely tradeable. Likewise Gault - though he is more likely to simply be de-listed. |

He comes from NSW I think??? Although I think GWS have plenty of ruck men. |
