I'd also bring back Brown, who looked in terrific form in the last VFL game. Witts has played 2 senior games for us this year and been a passenger in both, so back to the VFL for him. Crocker looks like he needs to go back to the VFL for a while. We need a strong body around the packs, so I'd be bringing in Wills. Also, Aish probably deserves a recall after being BOG in the VFL, though the club may want him to string a few such performances together before promoting him. Phillips didn't do much, but deserves another game. Blair has not done enough recently imo to hold his spot.
Outs: Witts, Frost, Crocker, Blair

Totally crazy trading Cloke at the end of the year. We need his experience out on the ground, not playing in the VFL. Look where all this got us trading Dawes, Thomas, Wellingham, Shaw, Beams and Lumumba. We need to stabilise the playing group with a good mix of youth and experience, not hang young players out to dry by having few senior players out on the field telling the young players what to do.
We still have a very good list which is more than capable of matching it on our home ground against an understrength Fremantle side. Easy win for me, but then I thought we would easily account for Melbourne. |

harsh on Witts mate, he was injured in the first game of the season which restricted him and last week was his first game back in.
On Cloke, I hope we don't trade him but that he gets back into some form. Moore isn't ready to be the main man up forward yet, a couple more years of Trav working up at CHF where he won AA will provide the time him and Cox need to really get it going. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Cloke will be traded if Bucks survives till next season, which I believe is odds on. And the fail train rolls on and on and on.... |

Not sure what to think of this match......Freo have started to actually string together some wins.
The most worrying stat is that for a side that lost 10 games in a row, they are now only two games behind us.
The thing that I am really pondering in the game plan is this. Yes we have lots of injuries, but if Buckley is building a game plan around having most of your stars in the team week in and week out...well ...then we need to be worried.....because rarely do you have your best 22 at your disposal.
Anyway that is aside, this is a 50 - 50 game. Turn up and play committed we win....play like we have for 80% of this year and the result will be as it has been for 8 of the last 12 games (the Bulldogs game aside).
We carry far too many passengers. But we have kept rewarding a few too many of them with repeat matches. _________________ "To know nothing of events before your birth, is to forever remain a child" - Cicero (Roman Lawyer/Senator) 46 BCE. |

It is arguably more likely there will be at least another good player who screams he wants out if Buckley isn't tossed overboard. If it's Jamie and Bucks is retained i'll be following another club in 2017.
Any chance we will see a repeat of the great influx of players who only want to come to Collingwood because of the great Nathan - what a bunch of crock we were sold this summer.
The ultimate horror will be when GWS first round pick debuts Round 1 next year and they thump us by 100pts at the G with Bucks still coaching this once great club. |

Yes CC.
GWS are looking awesome.
A pick 7 already and probably a pick 4 next year from us.
The horror, the horror!
GWS may well beat us by 100pts this year.
They play fast footy.

GWS will beat most clubs handsomely next year. I think they should be flag favourites this year, tbh. That's what a heavily-rigged draft, in time, does. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

They reckon it is the quality and experience of your bottom 6 that tells you how you are going. The level of injury has exposed us there, but that may do us a favour in the long run. When your 22-30 bracket are tough, battle hardened and near their prime, then you have a fighting unit. We do not have that. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

Lets hope, FFS, that we actually make selection decisions that indicate we know what we are doing. The selectons we mad against Melbourne indicated that we did not know what we are doing. Hopefully, we can turn this around. |

Pav is one of the last dinosaurs left that Brown can handle, Aish needs to come in at the expense of Blair/Crocker and Cloke has to be named at CHF. |

Just pick our best 22 please. Doesn't matter if you've played one game, 10 games, or 100 games. Some players are good at some things, not so good at other things. Selection needs to come from performance from games and performance on the training track. There's so much scrutiny of the players. The club even uses GPS at training and videotapes the training. As long as every player on the list is treated equally and knows exactly where they stand regarding selection, it makes for a harmonious group who play for each other and stops the whinging of individuals. If selection has been based more on potential than performance on the field, now would be a good time for the club to come clean with the players during the bye and declare itself. |
