If true that we are sticking to the current fitness staff I think that is a poor decision. We have not managed our list well... a bit of bad luck and ageing bodies can explain some of the injuries earlier in the year but our finish highlights a systemic issue! _________________ Love us or Hate us... we are Collingwood - you can't ignore the Mighty Magpies!!! |

If it was Rocket's recommendation then remove him from the evaluation team to find the replacements. This is grown up business and we don't need to worry about their feelings because we have Premierships to win, and you only have to look at Port to see what a difference fitness makes. |

Or maybe (and this might be a bit radical for Nick's lately...) have a look at what the root cause is first before shooting all and sundry? If the new regime is at fault then by all means chop him but if it's a result of a necessary shift in training methods (for example from a focus on strength to endurance) or something else like a lack of accurate load tracking under Buttifant (has been suggested but don't know if true or not) maybe hold off on the knee-jerk executions? |

The rumours circulating that Butterfant left because Buckley wouldn't listen to him are becoming more and more believable, Buckley would be the type to micro manage IMO, and he has surrounded himself with a bunch of yes men. _________________ Defender...........

Buckley was probably looking at our extensive injuries from 12 and 13 and responding to that in off-loading Butterfant... _________________ Love us or Hate us... we are Collingwood - you can't ignore the Mighty Magpies!!! |

We should fill the club with "Defender Types". You know the type. Individuals that want to tear the place apart the first time something goes wrong and lives by the theory that if something does not go to plan it was the "other Guys" fault and he has to go. |

I would assume this review was conducted before the GWS game?
Then how does he explain two further hamstring injuries suffered by Swan and Young on the weekend? There's something seriously this wrong with this area of the club and if we cannot find the root cause of the problem then these injuries will keep persisting. It needs to be fixed and fixed now!!
Anyway this is our full staff list in terms of the football department. By the way what does a player appearance coordinator do?
Football Department - High Performance
Bill Davoren - High Performance Manager
Michael Dugina - Strength and Conditioning Coach
Marty Girvan - Weights Coordinator
Kevin White - Sports Scientist
Blake McLean - Sports Scientist
Rohan Bownds - Head Trainer/Player Appearance Coordinator
Chris Howley - Rehabilitation Coordinator
Dean Filopoulos - VFL Conditioning |

I thought Buttifant left because he wanted to keep working with the guy he spent 10 years working with and who offered to pay him more money...... this happens in every industry. you know it can be the correct call to move on an old guy, but for him to have developed a repore with his staff .... _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

Someone at the club needs to perform a study on why this has been the case.
Is it Davoren, the weights coach, the stretching/recovery routine, olympic park surface, all of the above, etc?
I'd look at this before analysing the coach. Put a closer to full list of personnel on the park today and we win. |

The new coach could have an overseeing role in this review. |
