My folks are getting on my Dad is a DIY numpty(and proud of it). A few years ago we decided the bathroom had to be renovated because Dad was struggling with the bath and we needed some disabled stuff. So I spent an hour on the phone asking them what they wanted and then I put it into a user requirement listing essential , important, desirable etc . We sent it off to the Fraser Coast council to the dudes who do this stuff and asked them to get get costed quotes so we could see what we could afford. The Government put in 5 grand. Anyway we got about 4 quotes and one was from the council themselves. They were a wopping 15k over everyone else. I worked in Defence Procurement and Project management so I did all the comparative statements and cheaper was a local plumber who lives 3 doors down. I rang the Fraser council and said we would like to proceed with the lower quote but would like the 5k to buy a shower screen, new toilet and rails etc. I spoke to the bloke in charge and and asked why there quote was so high. He gave me a breakdown and they had included a 10k project management fee for the foreman, cost of before and after photos, and a 3 k fee to the council for use of vehicles and overheads. I told him I would do it for half that. Job was done quickly and to full satisfaction so no complaints. The only complaint was my 2 neices who complained that they couldn't bathe there infants to which Mum replied. Plastic baby bath. Your problem not mine. My house.I directed them to the 100000 litre water tank in the back yard. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

It is not far from the Bridge on the River Kwai et al.I declined to go and went to the waterfalls instead.UNESCO need to put a bogus report that eating tiger parts causes serious health issues. Like impotence. The Thais themselves don't seem to care. It took a lot to help the heffalumps as well. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

I rarely park in car parks! I part down a side street at the local shops, if I want to grocery shop I go at a not crowded time to one of two shopping centres with massive car parks and I park the furthest distance away!
Or I take juniors car! Or I shop online! _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Ah, so it is. Did have a quick look, didn't realise it'd be 3 or 4 pages back, sort of got buried by Skids' stuff.
Regardless, it still pisses me off so it can be in both I guess. |

Look, I know it's small fry compared to the actual rape and (as most people believe, absurdly lenient) sentence, but this still pisses me off so much. This kid has done something horrific and should pay a fair penalty for it, but excluding him from his sport for life is just completely unnecessary and reeks of virtue signalling on the part of the organisation.

Having a sexual conviction is against their code of conduct, seems to be a standard rule, not just for him. Plus, he should be in jail until he's too old to be on it anyway. |
