Bring the effort, win the contest and we will do alright. The hard bit is doing it week in week out with a young list that has lost key experience through injury. |

Ok, don't let watching the games or listening to every coach/player interview sway you! Bucks must be a brilliant coach to have taught a new game plan in the space of a week. |
So the slow movement of the ball for the first 7 weeks was identical to the next 2 weeks.
Give me a break! |
Oh so you are saying the game plan Rounds 1-7 was to move the ball slowly!
The change was to do with effort, execution and confidence/dare of the players. _________________ All We Can Be |

However, one of the main reasons for our improved form, imo, has been the significant lift in intensity from our 'second string' midfielders in Crisp, Greenwood and De Goey. Finally, we are demonstrating we have depth of quality in our midfield group. This has been infectious amongst the whole team and we are playing with confidence. Only time will tell, but it may turn out that we should thank Carlton for beating us a few weeks back, as we have been a new team ever since. Maybe it was the wake up call we needed.

Agree. Pendles at 100% makes big Difference to the Side.
So he can play Midfield now _________________ I am Da Man |

I still remember the five 50 metre penalties to our one in the recent loss to Carlton! Have not noticed any 50 metre penalties in the last two wins.! _________________ Social Club Member Since 1975 |

for much of the game geelong looked like us in the previous rounds. must have stolen our game plan from those first few rounds. didn't seem to work for them so they should ditch it immediately. i am sure they will learn from it. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

They will tell you what went wrong with them.
But lets us say our game plan was exactly the same as the first month or two. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Of course it is. There would be no more than minor changes as it's impossible to integrate anything else in just a couple of weeks. If you listen to Buckley all year, he's been saying this is how we want to play (fast ball movement etc, like we did at the end of the Richmond game), so it's not a new plan it's the existing one working better with possibly a couple of added tweaks. _________________ Well done boys! |

I think he was watching the same one as me. See my previous post. |
The same game as the Nicksters who couldn't fit Scott Pendlebury in the top 5 players on the ground.
26 possessions @85%, 6 marks, 4 tackles, 4 clearances, 4 rebound 50s, 3 goals. 140 Super Coach points.

I agree MM. Having a plan and executing it under pressure are two different things, just ask General Custer...
The difference has been getting in harder, lower, faster, in numbers and rolling in waves, running faster to space, trusting each other and lowering our eyes entering 50. Teaching and instructing only becomes instinct and habit after time and practise. No matter what the skillset that you are referring to.
Our backline still has some work to do, but like every team, when your midfield is on top it can change the pressure on the back and forward groups. Having a fit Pendles, Adams, Greenwood, Treloar, non suspended Sidey etc, Varcoe etc has made that happen. _________________ Get back on top. |

I couldn't believe it either, when he wasn't playing well very early in the year he was according to some a terrible leader. I kept defending now it's just sigh. He was excellent yesterday and last week, I think some just don't see the little things he does or expect him do more.
Out and out champion, Brad Scott stated Pendles would be the first person he would pick in his side. But what would he know only having coached him and a current AFL coach.
Leigh Matthews once said he would pick Pendles over Selwood, that's good enough for me and of course so would I. _________________ "Still waiting for your call Caroline ... not a quote in sight. Don't ever presume to speak on Collingwood's behalf," |

Glad you noticed. Some people didn't. There is a reason that the lad gets picked each week, and always has done since his emergence under Malthouse. i have always liked the hobbit, but this year he is in career-best form. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

After taking the good wife for a well earned long weekend to the hunter valley and not being able (or permitted) to see the game I've watched the replay twice
How damn good was the first quarter ?
We didn't have a bad player everyone did a job
Pendles is a gun
Treloar has endurance to burn was still running hard in the last minutes the same as he did early
I'm forming a huge man crush on Coxy
Grundy has been very good last 2 weeks
Don't know if I wil watch the game again tonight in bed or wait until tomorrow but it will be watched again for sure
Go the pies |
