Steele will run out for his 150th game on Saturday. That means he has played more games for Collingwood than, eg, Dick Condon, Darren Millane, Ray Shaw and James Clement. Barring mishaps, in the next month he will also pass Ricky Barham, Mick McGuane, Bobby Rose, Rene Kink and Jack Hamilton. That's quite remarkable, really, given that he's only 25.
Congratulations, you little star - let's hope the next 150 are as good as the first 150 have been. |

"as good as" would be nice, "even better" would be absolutely fantastic...
Well done on getting to 150 games. Has given great joy to many. Hopefully we'll get a smile out him during the game, always looks so sombre. |

Congrats Sidey.
He's a guy who seems to have so much talent that he's easy to criticise when he doesn't deliver on what seems unlimited potential, but if you just take him on his performances, he's a damn good player and should really be coming into his prime over the next 2-3 years. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Definitely one of my favourites. Smart, talented, terrific skills, loves a goal, never stops running, and seems to be there in every handball chain round the boundary that ends in a pass inside 50.
I still remember the buzz that we were getting this kid who'd kicked ten in a Grand Final. Some weird name... Ironside? Front-bum? Oh wait, there was a Gary Sidebottom played for St Kilda. Must be related!
Also a very popular player, lovely bloke, and just the sort his mates might put up an extra effort for!
Have a good one Steelo! Thanks for 150 great games (very very good for a Collingwood player!), and lots of time for 150 more, or more! _________________ "If at first you dont succeed...

Probably should have got there sooner, save for those two stupid shoulder bumps which cost him what, 6 weeks in suspension? _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Absolutely - he would have done it at 25, instead of at ... 25. |

Yes Mr.Smarty britches.
Was simply implying that those reports were avoidable and unnecessary, and I hope he has got that collision reflex out of his system.
It was just a waste of weeks, which put more strain on our midfields at times when he should have been out there roaming the paddock, and not watching from the bleachers... _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

It'll just help to keep him fresh to get him to 400. |

I'll settle for 250 games, allowing for injuries.
As long as he eventually plays more AFL games than Beams, good! _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

He's already an entire season ahead (150 to 128) and, of course, almost a year younger, so I'm expecting him to play 50 to 100 more games than Beams, even assuming that Beams' legs don't actually fall off.
(And, of course, I'm expecting him to play about 150 to 200 better ones than Beams - then again, I suppose that doesn't set the bar very high.) |

Steel is actually an alloy, not a metal, so you're calling Sidebottom an alloy! |
