Id agree for a few reasons.

He is smart - Both intellectually and footy smarts.
Is noted for his work ethic and leads by example off ciled and on field.
He extended his contract fairly quickly stating he was thankful to the pies for giving him a chance and wanted to stay loyal for many years.
He played 19 games in his first year and Every game last year.

Most importantly, last year when Pendles was asked who he viewed as a future captain he nominated Langdon.

Thats a great summary, even at a young age Langdon doesn't look nervous and has cool head on most occassions.

He speaks well and his performances reflect his strong attitude. A great addition to our club and leadership group. Next captain perhaps...

Of the ones suggested IMO Tay is closer in style of play & no quarter
given attitude to the last two premiership captains.

I think more so like Nick Maxwell

Couldn't agree more. He's, calm, relaxed and very cool under pressure, some great traits for a Captain. Taylor's a little too hot headed for my liking and tends to crack under pressure. Leaders can be all types though, I suppose. Personally, I think Langdon ticks more boxes

Then why is Langdon NOT Part of the Leadership Group Then?

Adams has Cracked Once under Pressure when at Collingwood

Just my opinion, Dave, as uninformed that may be. Perhaps he's still too young? Not knocking the decision to make Adams part of the leadership group, I just think there'd be better choices for a Captain. Not all leaders are Captain material, would you consider Goldsack, Keeffe or Cloke as Captains? They were all part of the leadership group, weren't they?

Don't discount the leadership potential of Jordan De Goey.

And Sier - we do have some good tough young classy leaders.

Already dreamt of Adams holding the cup up for some reason.
Richards/Weideman/Shaw/Maxy kinda hunger.

Fell in love when he snotted Selwood.
Westhoff was a little awkward but it has 'message' written all over it.
It was a big moment in a big game.

Love him !

needs an on-call minder to dial whenever he smells a beer 24x7x365.25

Ditto. Love his toughness. I seem to remember an incident last year when he got a mighty clobber to the head, but just jumped up and continued on as if nothing had happened.

Was'nt that when Mich Robinson put one on Tay's jaw & Tay just looked at
him then threw him to the ground and moved to next contest ?????

Think that may have been it! Yes.

It would've been quite understandable if Tay had collapsed in a heap, but he acted like it hardly registered. except for the annoyance factor. Great moment!!

watching Adams last night I thought he plays like Josh Thomas. Nothing flash, nothing great. A hard nut who is average.
We gave up an AA for him.
Our best trade deal so far has been Varcoe.
No Varcoe, no Collingwood!

Josh is an outside player with speed for mine.
Adams is inside grunt. Didn't have a good game last night but Treloar aside, who did?
