And the Panthers just beat the Eagles 27:16 and remain undefeated. |

In the "Monday Night" game, the Cardinals lead the Ravens 7:3, late in the first quarter. |

And with just under 4 minutes to go to half-time, a good, solid drive sees the Ravens take the lead 10:7. |

Cards won 26:18, with a few faint heart-murmurs at the death. |

Last Sunday, I went to the game in London. I may go to the game this coming Sunday.
I started a thread in GD, but didnt get much responce.
I wonder if the NFL will ever come to Aus? _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Well it's over
http://www.foxsports.com.au/us-sports/nfl/jarryd-hayne-san-francisco-49ers-australian-waived-to-make-way-for-running-back-kendall-gaskins/story-fnp3l4e4-1227589708199
Very disappointing move by the 49ers front office. Hyde goes down and now they've a real chance to give Hayne some solid game time so they can really evaluate where he's at, without risking a playoff spot because it's not a realistic chance, but instead they waive him and promote Kendall Gaskins from the Practice Squad. The reasoning is because they believe he's more NFL ready which is interesting considering he's never faced a first team rep in an NFL game.
Sounds to me Jed "I'm a piece of shit" York made his money grab with Hayne got the sales and now he's cuting ties for a cheaper option.
The way the offseason and regular season has been handled by the front office, if it wasn't for the new stadium, I'd be thinking this was all a targeted preemptive stike against the SF fan base to reduce attendances and marketing so they could approach the NFL and other owners for relocation approval. Sadly that isn't the case it's just a case of ineptitude, and it's sad because it means this teams goin nowhere while this front office exists.
To make my point about the lack of sense in waiving Hayne for Gaskins see below:
Carlos Hyde - 4.1 yards average per rush.
Hyde has a broken bone in his foot and likely will miss some serious time.
Reggie Bush - 4.3 yards average per rush (career), 3.5 yards average per rush (49ers)
7.9 yards average per punt return.
Bush has serious durability concerns not just at the 49ers but throughout his entire career and won't be able to shoulder the number of reps needed for long before his body breaks down.
Jarryd Hayne - 3.1 yards average per rush
9.5 yards average per punt return.
Hayne has done very well with very limited opportunity, yes he's had 3 fumbles but the first was on his first touch and nerves would've been a big reason why. The other 2...well welcome to the NFL.
Mike Davis - 1.3 yards average per rush.
Davis is likely going to be inactive.
Kendall Gaskins - no stats.
Likely to be Hyde's replacement.
* On Davis and Gaskins the reality is both could be active with Bush handlind PR or David could be active and Gaskins inactive that's how bottom of the barrel the option between these two is.
As you can see at this time Hayne is the 9ers clear 2nd best RB behind Bush with Hyde out injured and better than Bush on PR.
The timing of the waiver, as mentioned in the article, suggests the 49ers are trying to sneak Hayne through the waiver period but I wouldn't be surprised if he's picked up by Seattle or Detroit. _________________ A Collingwood supporter since the egg was inseminated. |

Not an anti-climax. There was never a climax moment. Hayne was never a serious threat. He is a rookie punt returner, which is effectively every RB / WR from college who don't make it as a starting RB / WR.
Next year, 3,500 college footballers will graduate and only 250 will be drafted. About 800 of them are possible punt / kick returners. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

31 other teams passed on Hayne. 32 HC's can't be wrong. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

Did anyone interested in the sport really care (unless they were a 49ers fan, hoping against hope that something good might happen on their team)? |
