Trump is anti establishment, nationalist and anti PC, what's not to love.
He's also not chained to special interests, he WAS one and has said how he gave money to Clinton and requested she attend his wedding; she did. He keeps going on about being wealthy because he can largely fund his own campaign and not have to kowtow.
Now whether he is seriously running, who knows but I'd love to have someone in this country to seriously shake up politics and force all the limp wristed, PC loving wankers to actually face the concerns of the electorate. People in the USA absolutely hate illegal immigration and it's only been Trump to rally against it, now because of him the other Republicans are changing their stand on it. Populism shouldn't be a dirty word in a democracy. |
How do you define anti PC, Woko? |

Clive Palmer tried to seriously shake up politics. Look how well that's worked out so far. |
My thoughts exactly. There are a lot of parallels there.
Wokko, I get the appeal of a politician who speaks his mind, but surely that's not a selling point on its own. Straight shooters who say what's on everybody's mind are appealing, but there's a difference between that and someone who simply has no filter. If it's the latter you want, you know, you may as well vote 1 Jason Akermanis.
And let's not forget that, however refreshing a bit of political incorrectness may be, the leader of the world's biggest superpower needs to have some diplomatic skills, both in terms of international relations and having to be able to negotiate with congress.
That's just one quality that a good president needs to have. There's also the ability to develop good policy... shall I go on?
Even if you and a decent proportion of core Republican voters think that Trump is the greatest thing since sliced bread, you're going to have to accept that he's completely unelectable. Rusted-on Democrats already hate him, and undecideds will overwhelmingly see him as a loose cannon who can't be trusted with the job. So, the Republican Party cannot and will not give him their nomination.
The longer this charade goes on, then, the likelier it gets that Trump will run as an independent, splitting the Republican vote and guaranteeing a Clinton victory. In a sane world, it wouldn't matter; he'd just be an amusing distraction. But the baffling decision of some of these apparently influential right-wing opinion shapers like Breitbart to get behind him is just going to tear the GOP apart. In that sense, Trump is a Democrat's wet dream. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Just to clarify, liking Trump doesn't mean if I was tasked with voting in a Republican primary that I'd give him my vote. I'd be going with Paul or Carson and maybe Rubio. I find his style a breath of fresh air, and anything that shakes up the staid and moribund GOP is a good thing.
I'd also add that I'm firmly in the anyone but Clinton camp, and if Trump ran as a 3rd party candidate ala Perot he'd find himself with a LOT of enemies. Considering he's an ex democrat, maybe that was his plan all along *removes tinfoil hat*, to be fair however Reagan, an actor, was an ex-Democrat too. |

Well Political Correctness is avoiding at any cost the possibility of causing offense to whatever group is perceived a victim class. The bending over backwards to avoid the slightest chance of someone feeling offended is nothing more than Orwellian thought policing and many, many people are heartily sick and tired of it. |

By bending over backwards do you mean not being a bigot or something else? |

And in what exact respects would Jason Akermanis be worse than our current dearly loved and much respected Prime Minister?

For bonus points, why would he be worse than the dearly loved and much respected leader of the opposition. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Hmmm ... a few actually. Aker is more of an unpredictable flea-bag nut-case than Shorten. On the other hand, he's better looking. Call it a tie. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

There's political incorrectness and there's just being a colossal oaf. Would people really want to vote for a guy who calls random women on Twitter 'fat pigs'? What a statesman. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |
