Ideally to Fasolo or Blair
Good times... |
And it goes on season after season under this bloke, every July and August, without fail... which I suppose is an oxymoron in itself, because it is indeed a FAIL.

We were very good against the top teams but were not able to win. Unfortunately, the defensive and scrappy game we needed to play to compete with them seems to have killed all fluency and offense from our game. Losing Cloke and now dropping White has made that even more difficult.
Coming into the season I saw this as a development year, so anything other than total disaster wasn't going to concern me much. What we've seen has been mostly good. The last 2-3 weeks though have not been, and there is some worry that a pattern is emerging after we did the same last year. I feel that pattern is more about youth and injury than anything else. We were quite a bit younger and more inexperienced than the Demons today, I'd imagine. I still feel we're building and that next season we should be able to run out the year more successfully. |
agreed- some excellent points. |

don't sugar coat the problem! We cannot get fluency out of defence when you have plonker kicks like Frost, Brown, Toovey and Marley. Last week our chip kicks couldn't break the Eagles and Dogs web and today the coach edict was "let's go 1980's style and kick out from a be]point to CHB to a one on three"! Bucks, stop being a smooth talker and provide some tactical nous to the side! _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

Watching the game today was like being forced to watch Jeanne Pratt and Gina Rinehart making love together.
God bloody awful.
So this is what a dishonourable loss feels like.

Moore and Scharanberg where the only 2 bright lights.
Moore Tried all day but did not get much numbers as he got Pathetic Delivery from Mids and HBF's.
Scharenberg never panicked and was 1 of our best ball users today on Debut _________________ I am Da Man |

Lol, why wait?
Today was his most pathetic effort yet, going back to selection last Thursday.
We do not need to see Blair, Seedsmen or Oxley back in this side in 2015.
Just shows Ramsay will be a LOCK for 2016.
Six in a row; well done arsehats.
Do I blame the players? Yes and no. Poorly coached and poorly trained, which starts over the preseason.
Delisting dickheads Thomas and Keeffe MIGHT save two other players from oblivion in relation to list management come seasons end.
The_Staunton wrote: | AN_Inkling wrote: | thompsoc wrote: | Besides from the crap stats, did we win in any? |
Actually, quite a few. Clearances (+6), centre clearances (+7), inside 50s (+13), tackles (+19). |
We won clangers? |
Mate, we lead the comp for ball slaughtering.
We are the elite.
Considering how meticulous the coach was by both hand and foot during his playing days [and probably still is], it's just beggars belief how he fails to install any degree of disposal competency into his list for at least the third consecutive season.
I feel sick in the guts every time we go backwards with the ball, because sooner than later the balls ends up with a panic merchant or pill slaughterer, and you just vomit in your mouth watching opposition players swoop onto the spilled contest and rush it inside 50M for a gimme goal.
Christ; I now find myself hoping Richmond win the flag this year.
Four weeks to go and I'm so BROKEN that i'm rooting for a Tiggers flag.
F*ck me dead.
Why do you suppose that is Buckley, you logistical genius?

great points. If I see anybody handball to Brown, Frost or Grundy "standing still" in the back half I'll vomit on my footy record! _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

Three things every year
a) We never deal with the loose man back
b) We bomb it blindly to a small forward outnumbered 4-1
c) We courageously lock it in our forward line for 10 minutes plus only to do something dumb and get caught on the rebound
Every year...
Still, 2017.... _________________ We just got nutted at the clearances... |

2014 we finished at 11th spot, this year we've gone backwards & injuries are not to blame.

The bright lights for me were:
Faz - shone brightly, faded in and out a bit sure, but ran his guts out all day.
Swanny - too proud to accept that and kept running all day.
Adams - hasn't missed a beat.
Greenwood - working into AFL pace now.
Sidey - pretty good as usual. _________________ All We Can Be |

For the rest of the year only players who will be with us in 2017 and beyond should get a game.
This season is over as far as finals go- so let's just play the kids and get games into them.
Marsh in for Toovey should be the first move.
Also- Give Pendles a few weeks off- he has been ordinary and is clearly (or hopefully) far from 100% |

Calling this effort, insipid, hopeless, gutless etc... is a massive overreaction. The effort was there all day as it has been all season. That has been one of the positive signs.
We got enough of the ball, but operating with an undersized and underused forward setup we struggled to generate enough offense. The lack of targets made ball use even more difficult.
Melbourne were actually pretty good today. We however beat them pretty comfortably out of the middle. The scoring power just wasn't there and made it easy for their counter attacks. They tried a similar strategy against us earlier in the year. It worked at times and they got some easy goals, but with Cloke and White in the side there were far less easy rebounds. Cloke kicking 7.0 of course helped as well. _________________ Well done boys! |
