I think he is the best Collingwood midfielder I have seen.
He is not the longest kick I have seen.
He is not the most talented player I have seen.
He is not the most exciting player I have seen.
He is not the greatest player I have seen.
But he is the most consistent and best midfielder
I have seen over a long period of time at Collingwood.
And my memory goes back a long long long time.
It goes back to the early 60's.
And yes I forgot to add the most fairest player in the
last 200 games.
Well done lad! _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Buckley matched him for sustained excellence (with Swanny not far behind) but Scotty will play a lot more games for the Pies eventually.
In terms of professionalism Bucks and Pendles are two peas in a pod. Just bloody great dedicated Pies. |

Fell in love with him in his first year, everyone pumping up Daisy's tyres whilst this bloke just oozed class and poise from day one.
I rate him as the best I have seen and I am a Buckley fan, he is still the best kick over 50+m but Pendles decision making and play making is unmatched.
Weaknesses have been worked in, ie Marking overhead and shots at goal and he is a born leader and a loyal Pie. I look forward to flying across for game 314.

Great post mate.
Pendlebury and Buckley, Buckley and Pendlebury. Either or either. Two exceptional footballers/men that we are lucky to have graced our club.
There's nothing between them as footballers and for their pursuit of excellence they are kindred spirits.
Daisy got the early kudos but for the discerning supporter Pendles always looked like the keeper as a long term champion for Collingwood and so it has turned out to be (admittedly this is about the only one I've got right for the past 15 years). |

Geez, that came quick! Must be getting old
Our proven clutch player, and a professional for every one of those 200 games.
Has joined Bucks and Swanny as one of the three best players the club has seen since the the Bucks era. _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

Congrats Pendles, may there be many many more.
As good a player I've seen at Collingwood in the 45 years I've been watching. _________________ I hold a cup of wisdom, but there is nothing within. |

Agree that he's an all time great of the club. If we redid the Team of the Century and made it the Team of All time, he'd get in for sure.
It actually makes me sad he's played 200 because it means his career is more than half over. _________________ "We ain't gotta dream no more" |

We've been blessed with some fantastic mids over the years I've been watching the Pies. Names like Price, Tuddy, McGuane, Daics (the mid), Bucks, Swan, Richardson, Russell. Pendles holds his own against all of them. |
