A wonderful week ahead - knocked the Tullamariners off and now for Carlton, who are particularly vulnerable at the moment. Time to bury them - no mercy rule, secure the 4 points and then go for percentage. A win is OK but a stake through the heart is so much more satisfying. _________________ If you used to barrack for the 'Pies, you never barracked for the 'Pies. |

8 disposals, 1 mark and 2 tackles. I love Frosty and he was good but that's hardly outstanding. |
Umm... he's a defender.
Give me the stats of how many spoils he made, Essendon attacks he foiled and how many kicks his man got and you'll find he was very worthy of the medal (as was Seedsman). |

Goldsack, Seedsman, Frost & Brown Outstanding.
Elliott, Pendles, Swanny, Taylor, Grundy & Crisp Very Good.
Not sure why Oxley and not Gault was the substitution.
Played very poorly at stages and won, a good sign!

Really good win. Lots of errors, again, but the pressure and hardness was very impressive.
And no injuries! _________________ kill for collingwood! |

Stats don't reflect his efforts across 4 quarters. |

Fantastic gutsy win. Simply harder at it all day than the Bombers who clearly much prefer it on the outside. Also thought Frosty was brilliant. Pretty much the perfect defensive game. Would have been a deserved Anzac Medal Winner but flashy medals and fullbacks generally don't mix.
Special mention to the Buckley knockers. Fairs fair.. he cops the blame when Grundy turns it over and gifts the opposition a shot at goal, he cops the blame when Ramsay does the same and puts the team under defensive pressure for 10 mins. You can't have it both ways. Massive plaudits to the coach as well for a sensational win against the odds. _________________ "Don't tell me, don't tell me YESSS!"

I was at the game...Frost closed on a 'free' Essendon forward from 20m+ away time and time again to spoil a certain mark. It was amazing to watch. Watching him sprint to time his fist perfectly every time was ANZAC medal worthy, and brought the crowd to raptures every time. The ANZAC medal isn't for BOG, even though I gave him my BOG votes. My friend, a stranger a row in front of me and my old man via SMS all voted Frost as their ANZAC medal winner.
Stats? For a defender? In the wet? Pfft... _________________ Est. 2002 |

That was Crisp!
Fantastic win
Worked as a team to shut down a dangerous opponent
Absolutely had them shot to bits by the end...
Very, very happy with that... _________________ We just got nutted at the clearances... |

Might be a good tine to draw breath and give the coaching pabel some credit. Bucks coached beautifully.
Full press on the ball carrier and forced them wide and slow all day. |

What made that win so sensational was that it was largely off the back of the efforts of our young brigade; players like Seedsman, Frost, Crisp, Williams, Grundy and Adams, rather than being won by Pendles, Swan or Cloke. It was an outstanding team performance, for which Bucks should receive due credit, with probably Gault the only passenger. When you consider we've got Witts, Sidey, Greenwood, Reid, Scharenberg, Moore, Freeman and De Goey waiting in the wings, the next few seasons are going to be a joy to watch. Go Pies! |
