Playing him on Daniher or Carlisle would be similar as to what happened to McCartin versus us, he would be embarrassed.
If he comes in he has to replace Gault as the third forward. The problem with that is he's only been playing down back at VFL level.
Nah, not yet, play him up forward this week in the VFL then we'll have the option to play him at either end versus a very weak Carlton team.[/quote]
I'm not too sure if he's ready or not but at this stage I don't think we need to test it anyway. Happy for him to churn out a few VFL games given his disrupted preseason. | I assume you mean our current problem. |

I'd have him behind Freeman as likely debutants given Freeman has been training solidly since last August and has also put in some very good VFL performances. |

Freeman is a Midfielder so no wonder he be more Ready then Moore.
Moore could easily play a Loose Men in Defense _________________ I am Da Man |

I've always maintained that I think he will be groomed as a key defender and only after he has cemented his spot and become an experienced player in the side will he be swung forward but I do think he will end up a forward. |

Agree, Moore could. Unfortunately for him, we don't have a vacancy for a loose man in defense. Oxley and Langdon got that covered at the moment.
That Freeman may be more ready because he's a mid v a KPP prospect but my point was he's been training solidly since late last season and has been very good over the last few games. |

Quote: | The Pies have been keen to promote Moore after a succession of stand out performances in the VFL, and had been tempted to blood Moore for Anzac Day, but have chosen the more conservative path. Moore has been playing as a key defender in the VFL, and would be used as a tall back if he was promoted. |
Reading that makes me Think he won’t play only IF 1 off Brown or Frost go down injured

as 1 of the Key Postion Player he is a year or 2 away from playing that Role but as a 3rd/Loose tall he could do that Quite Well. Even put him on a Wing |
I reckon our tall forward structure is the one the club is going to persist with.
(Gault, White and Cloke).
Down back is another matter.
Reid hasn't come up...again, Sharonberg is still to play a game, Browns shoulder is a week by week proposition and of course Keefe is gone (at least for the foreseeable future).
If they give him a run it will be down back! |

With Reid out a little longer and Keefe most likely gonski… we are a little short for talls down back.
So he might get a crack initially down back. Nice place to learn his trade.
But ultimately, maybe even when or if Frost, Reid and Brown are healthy i would look to Moore playing forward.
Cloke and White are both 28 this year so they still have a few more years left however Gault and Moore are the future…
I think with his skill and the difficulty of playing as a forward KPP compared to a back KPP that Darcy will go forward and eventually be a forward star. _________________ Love us or Hate us... we are Collingwood - you can't ignore the Mighty Magpies!!! |

Yep, probably a no brainer playing him in defence atm. If either of Brown or Frost were to go down we'd be in a bit of shit. _________________ Formally frankiboy and FrankieGoesToCollingwood. |

Moore has spent the whole pre season and every match he's played in defense. Not sure why we'd select him forward.
As much as I'd love a dominant forward for the future, premierships are more often won on the back of a strong defense.
Looking at the key forwards coming through at the moment in Danaher, Hogan, Boyd, Cameron, Patton etc .......someone's gotta play on them.
Then again this could all be about developing a wingman capable of running back and forward.
Being selected as an emergency gets him training with the seniors and access to all the senior team meetings. All part of his development. _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"
