Really happy about Ramsay, Broomy and Ox. |
You'd have to be happy about Grundy, Langdon, Frost and Crisp too roar. That's a great spread of exciting young talent. |
Absolutely, RudeBoy. There was only a few players I wasn't happy with, tbh.
St kilda truly are terrible so you can't get too excited about tonight's win but there are certainly good signs. Next week will tell us a lot more about where we are. _________________ kill for collingwood! |

I'm feeling very tired so all I have to say was that it was a very pleasing win with lots of positives to take out of that and St.Kilda are truly terrible.
Great signs tonight and great to be back at the MCG! I'll discuss more tomorrow! _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

great team effort all round, very pleased, our kids were outstanding, and varcoe has answered his critics, swan was awesome, far from finished, a twelve goal win I will take anytime. That should shut the negative nellies up for one week, at least. ! _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Another slow start but some bloke named Swan put his hand up and said follow me. I was worried about this game as I saw no inside mids with the quality we have out. The young guns stood up and the the Captain despite not looking 100% dominated as well. Plenty of improvement required and whilst the opposition are not that great the team as a whole performed as they should for 3 1/2 quarters. A week at a time. |

It's all about chalking up wins in the first half of the season. The second half is when you look at how you win and what you want the team to look like considering injuries. Enough wins early with some key players coming back means a fight for positions.
4 points - move on to next week, reload and go again. |
And a fair touch of mongrel; he was as hard at it as anyone on the field last night; hope he butters up against the Bummers _________________ "The last thing he expected WAS THE FIRST THING HE GOT!!!!!"

How about Oxley? What a gem, I swear there was a passage of play where he got 3 quick touches with his back to me and I could have sworn it was Pendles _________________ "The last thing he expected WAS THE FIRST THING HE GOT!!!!!"

In the second quarter, when the game was thereto be won, I was impressed with a number of the newer players. Swan and Pendles were their usual selves but I thought that Grundy, Broomhead, Ramsay, Varcoe and Crisp were all fantastic in that stretch. The most satisfying thing about the game was the way the newer players stood up and were so dominant. |

First game I've gotten to in 3 years and I was happy with what I saw.
Thought our forward and back line functioned with Goldsack moving back. Provided more experience to a young back line, freed up Langdon and Oxley as loose men and as better field kicks moving forward.
Loved Crisp, Ramsey and Broomhead's game. Broomhead reminds me of a quicker Sidebottom with a more penetrating kick.
I thought Dwyer played well up forward and going forward might be a better option than Fasolo. I think he is more crafty and creative than the Fas at the moment.
Would've been great if Gault clunked some of the marks he went for, granted it was a greasy night. But the White, Gault and Grundy combination seemed to work. It was the best complete game I've seen Grundy play.
Even after 9 seasons I still cringe when Toovey kicks the ball. You can't question his efforts but his disposal lets him and the side down far too often.
Based on tonights team effort its hard to see how all the high to mid range recent draft picks will all fit into this side. |
