^Thanks.
Still a small chance Reid, Witts or even De Goey and Freeman could be available for round 1 should they play a full game though it appears unlikely they will factor into calculations now.
Frost and Brown should be adequate kp defenders for Brisbane with Gault and White probable ruck support for Grundy. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

I'd have Kennedy, Crisp and Karnezis all ahead of Broomhead at this stage.
He's been underwhelming this preseason to date IMHO so will need a good showing against the dogs to be considered a good bet for round 1. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

With 3 more to be trimmed from the list to face the Dogs Broomhead may not get a chance to play. I would thin the 3 outs are likely to come from PK , Ramsay, Broomhead and Oxley. Reckon Oxley might be the one to hold his spot as he was the best of this group against the Blues. |

I reckon Oxley, Ramsay and Karnezis will miss out.
As talented as he is, PK just does not seem to be fit enough to play senior footy.
On form alone, Broomhead should miss, but I suspect his great form at the end of last season will work in his favour. It may be that he's been played in a different position. He's a class act, so I'd be happy for him to keep his spot.
It's pretty clear that De Goey and Freeman will play VFL before they play AFL. That's fine by me. Let them dominate at VFL and thereby force their way into the seniors.
A forward line with the 3 talls of Cloke, White and Gault may just make all the difference to our poor forward structure over the last couple of years. Throw in Fasolo, Elliott and Broomhead/Blair, then it's starting to look very potent. I like it. |

I'd rather Karnezis play and see if he can put his hand up for round 1 with a impressive display.
He got the job done in NAB1 and like Fasolo his role across half forward often delivers either chocolates or boiled lollies.
He was poor last week and like Fasolo needs to find another way to get into the game and gather 15+ possessions on days the goals aren't flowing. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

I have not included certain players on the basis that I do not think they will be 'ready' in time for round one but will or may push there way in sooner rather than later.
B: Williams, Brown, Frost
HB: Ramsay, Langdon, Toovey
C: Sidebottom, Greenwood, Varcoe
HF: Goldsack, White, Fasolo
F: Elliot, Cloke, Gault
R: Grundy, Pendlebury, Adams
Int: Swan, Crisp, Blair, Karnezis
Emerg: J. Thomas, De Goey, Witts
Reid, Seed, Freeman, Kennedy and the emergencies knocking at the door
Keefe there abouts after injury

Pretty much agree RC, except Varcoe is a definite starter in round 1. |

Despite what we may think of the Brions, can't see us going into R1 with only 21 players. |

I would like Oxley in there somewhere. Without Oxley, Langdon is our sole good kicking backman. _________________ Go Pies |

I'd have Sinclair and Kennedy into the 25, De Goey and Witts out. Broomy hasn't had a standout preseason but he'd be next in line. Oxley & De Goey next. Will know more about the likely emergencies after this weekends game. |
