Dave depends what you want it for. If it is only to hide IP when you download bittorrent then you could use a proxy like TorGuard or BitGuard.
It is cheaper than a VPN and it is only used with bittorrent programs like Utorrent. Using a VPN will also slow down your connection.
A VPN encrypts your entire connection including any browsing so it is helpful
because it means that visits to torrent tracker sites like kickass will be anonymous too, but surely they can't get you for just visiting the web site.
If you are not downloading you can always disconnect from the VPN.
If you do go down the VPN path make sure it has a torrent kill switch in case the VPN drops out. _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

I just don’t want to make it easy for to Discover my IP thru Torrent Downloads and I guess not for Browsing so they don’t see me looking at Torrent Sites.
So a Proxy could be the best Choice?
How does a Torrent Kill Switch helps with Torrents on VPN?
Though I use Private Trackers now instead of Private Trackers and I use a Seedbox to seed so I can keep my Ratio up.
What you think is good for me then? _________________ I am Da Man |

I believe the kill switch is provided by the VPN provider but not all do it, the idea is to kill the download if the VPN cuts out so your real IP is not shown in the peer list.
I use a proxy because I am only concerned out masking IP address while downloading torrents. It's not illegal to visit torrent sites so I am not so fussed with general web browsing. I save the torrents then kick them off overnight whenever downloading.
I have heard Private Internet Access is good as it provides both a VPN and Proxy so you can use whichever you want.
He is a good article explaining the pros/cons of both.

I have also heard some very good things about Private Internet Access. in my Research.
Well what I do I guess just hiding my IP when Downloading/Uploading Torrents is all I really need.
Though I don’t want to get the Private Torrent Sites/Tracker get caught.
I will check out that Link _________________ I am Da Man |

Hoping and praying that a certain foreign movie tracker isn't included on hat list. If it is, a VPN will be non-negotiable. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

I am hoping also they are just targeting the Big Public Trackers in like The Pirate Bay and Kick Ass Torrents and not really look at Private Trackers.
I have not used Public Trackers for quite some Time. I use the Private Trackers for the little bit I been Downloading of late _________________ I am Da Man |

What I find annoying is that I would pay a reasonable cost to watch my TV shows legally. However, I am not given the chance to do so.
I'd even be prepared to pay the hundreds of dollars per month to subscribe to all our online content providers (Foxtel, Stan, Presto and Netflix AU, etc.), but even then I still wouldn't be able to access to all the TV shows I currently need to download illegally. |

That is why people Download because they have to wait for long time for the show comes out in the US and Europe. Then we have to wait so long to get the dam thing.
Also I think things are way over-charged. $30 for a new DVD is way too expensive. Should be half that Price _________________ I am Da Man |
