I've hear of some beauty's but one I found out about is a "Leave Scam". It involves people on those dating sites contact others. They say they are serving overseas and send multiple pictures of service men and women to suck a potential victim in. Then after a few images and plenty of chatting as they get close they say they want to be with you, marry you etc BUT have used all their leave but if you email the commander and say that you need them with you they will be granted leave.
Now the emails look legit and you get a reply saying it's granted and pay X amount into (get this) a Private bank account and leave will be granted.

People desperate for love get sucked into this.
Have you heard of a scam? |

I was selling a car and had someone email me.
He was buying the car which is a beautiful car for his cousin who is coming to our beautiful country and wants my beautiful car but he needs extra funds to get into Australia in order to buy my beautiful car. So he was asking me in order to sell my beautiful car to send his cousin these funds.
I strung him along for a while until I got sick of playing and dumped the chump.
Maybe it was his culture and I should have sent him money .... David does not sending him money make me racist? |

When I was on a dating site there was some 'women' that were contacting me saying they were from Tasmania. As we were chatting they said they were models, two of which were from Perth Tasmania, unlikely there would be much from there with 2,000 people living there.
So they would say they were stuck in Nigeria and needed me to help them get back to Tasmania, and they would be with me etc. Well I got bored after awhile and stopped trolling them and told them to get better material.
After the fourth one I just replied with 'Nice try.' _________________ avg

Some of the car schemes are quite elaborate.

I ran into the Paypal one a couple of years ago. The Son was looking to sell a car and he had this person on email giving crap like how he'd pay via pay pal because he was on an oil rig and some agent would pick it up. He'd put an extra $200 in the paypal transfer so the idea was the agent shows up, we give them the car keys and $200, the Paypal authorisation is fake.
My suggestion is if you do anything online, google the name and/or phone number to check them out. Or better, cash handed over on pick up. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Wow, just log in and check your PayPal account rather than trusting an email authorization from the buyer. Sheesh. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |
