^It's the OP's guide to talent more than a mock draft as to where he thinks they'll end up.
I'm not sold on Pickett either.
Looks talented but queries on the defensive side of his game.
Might be a Lewis Jetta type and go missing in finals.
If we end up with pick 23 or even 30 then a Cockatoo might be available who'll provide us with the same outside run but also the bigger body.
Garlett or Smith might still be there also between 23-30 so I don't think we need to use pick 5 on Pickett when we could get a similar type later on. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

I think Cockatoo could be a really good get with that big powerful body and the leg speed, plus having an uncle who's been through the system means he could be a bit more professional. I've heard he's a very coachable young fella anyway.
I'd actually be a bit surprised if he was still there in the 20's though. I can see a team taking a risk on him in the mid teens after his good combine performance.
Clem Smith is worth looking at in the second round for sure and I don't know enough about Garlett to be honest. But if he's that sort of player, then worth a look too. |

Swoop, if we end up with pick 5. What about trading it to the GC for picks 8 and 15?
Not sure if they'd do it, but maybe Clayton wants Lerverde or someone at 5. Then we could grab a De Goey at 8 and Cockatoo at 15, giving us two big bodied mids, one inside, one outside. Just a thought. |

I think it would have to be more like 5 and 23 to have any hope but even then we would be relying on Clayton really having a preference for a single player outside the "big 4" as this draft is seen as being pretty even between picks 5 to 15.
Personally I'd rather pick 8 and 15 ahead of 5 and 25 this year but Hine might think otherwise and have his eyes firmly set on a player he'd love to get at 5 (assuming we even end up with it). _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Not sure if I'd give up both those picks for 15 and 8. Might be willing to throw in a third rounder or something, but was kinda counting on Clayton having a hardon for Laverde. He tends to like that sort of player. Drafted KK last year and Jarrod Grant at the Dogs, probably both higher than others rated them at the time and he also had a hand in getting Jarrod Brennan over from the Lions to the Suns.
It's a long way off happening anyway, we don't even have pick 5 right now. I'm just trying to think of a way to get Cockatoo to the club, because I'm sure he'll get picked before number 25. |

Assuming it's 5 and 25, I would want Laverde or DeGooey, and Cockatoo. _________________ kill for collingwood! |

depending on what happens with pick 4 we could get a chance at Wright
I wasnt fussed on him thinking he was more ruck than forward but after the combine testing and the write up today on the AFL site Id be more than happy with him.
That said, if GWS loose Boyd and keep pick 4 they will take him and hif the dogs lose griffens for pick 4 without Boyd they will take him. _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

If we had no interest in Wright given we are getting Moore then I was hoping we might have been able to score 6 and 27 off the dogs for pick 5.
I don't feel there is a big difference between a player we could get at 5 or 6 whilst pick 27 could land us someone like Cockatoo.
Obviously now if they score pick 4 or Boyd for Griffen then that's a no go. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Would love Brayshaw but he'll be gone by pick 5 so I'd be happy with Laverde/DeGooey/Duggan/Ahern/Wright.
Pick 25, hmmmm, maybe Cockatoo/Ellis/Vickers-Willis.
Cheers. _________________ The window is open my friend! |

Any links to those suggestions? Couldn't find much at all on Brampton apart from a Norwood mention _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |
